The body temperature drops on the seventh day after ovulation

The body temperature drops on the 7th day after ovulation. Generally speaking, this symptom indicates that the woman has not successfully become pregnant. This can be distressing for women who are anxious to have a child, but pregnancy is a relatively complicated physiological process. Therefore, women must maintain a particularly optimistic attitude, otherwise it is easy to rush and fail to achieve their goals. At this time, it is necessary to strengthen ovulation period detection, etc.

The body temperature drops on the seventh day after ovulation

Generally speaking, there is no pregnancy in this situation. Generally speaking, if pregnancy occurs, the body temperature will continue to rise for 21 consecutive days, so the possibility of pregnancy is high. However, sometimes there are many errors in body temperature monitoring, so it cannot be ruled out that there is no pregnancy. Therefore, we have to wait for the menstruation.

What are the changes in body temperature during ovulation?

What changes will occur in body temperature during ovulation? During ovulation, body temperature changes into two phases, high and low. Body temperature will rise during ovulation.

When the human body is in a state of complete rest, free from mental and all objective interference, the measured body temperature is called basal body temperature. The most accurate temperature is measured when you wake up at 6-7 in the morning but have not yet gotten up to move around. Basal body temperature can more accurately reflect the ovulatory function of the ovaries and the corresponding endocrine levels.

The follicular phase is before ovulation, during which the ovaries secrete estrogen and the basal body temperature is mostly passively kept below 36.6°C. After ovulation, a corpus luteum is formed in the ovary, which secretes progesterone. Progesterone has a thermogenic effect on the central nervous system, raising the basal body temperature by 0.3-0.5°C. The increase in body temperature continues until 1-2 days before the onset of menstruation and then begins to decline. In this way, the changes in basal body temperature during an ovulatory menstrual cycle present a biphasic curve. When the temperature transitions from low temperature to high temperature, an extremely low temperature will occur. The day when the extremely low temperature occurs is the ovulation day.

Ovulation period based on changes in body temperature

How to tell the ovulation period from the changes in body temperature? Generally speaking, as soon as ovulation begins, a woman's basal body temperature will rise. The day of ovulation is the day when the body temperature rises from the low temperature range to the high temperature range, which is exactly at the turning point.

The basal body temperature of a normal ovulating woman is in the low temperature period, which lasts about two weeks, from the onset of menstruation to the ovulation date; the high temperature period is from the ovulation date to the next menstrual period, with the body temperature rising by 0.3-0.5℃, which also lasts for two weeks. Ovulation usually occurs before or during the rise in body temperature.

After the egg is released from the ovary, it can survive in the fallopian tube for 1-2 days, waiting for fertilization; the male's sperm can maintain its fertilization ability in the female's reproductive tract for 2-3 days, so it is easy to get pregnant through sexual intercourse a few days before and after the egg is released. To be on the safe side, we call the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, together with the ovulation day, a total of 10 days, the ovulation period.
