Is menstruation normal if the fallopian tube is blocked?

The fallopian tube is a very important part of the female reproductive structure, mainly referring to the fact that the follicles in the body can be secreted through the fallopian tube. The fallopian tubes are also where hormones in the female body develop. But often women’s fallopian tubes become blocked. When a blockage occurs, it has a great impact on a girl's body. So will a blockage of the fallopian tube affect the normal menstrual response of women?

1. Will menstruation occur if the fallopian tube is blocked?

There is no direct correlation between female fallopian tube blockage and menstruation. Menstruation is not discharged from the fallopian tube. Its cyclical changes are based on hormone regulation, and this activity does not rely on the function of the fallopian tube to complete. Therefore, when the fallopian tube is blocked, it does not affect the normal arrival of menstruation, and it will not affect the ovulation after menstruation. It only hinders the egg from entering the uterus, which is the main cause of female infertility.

2. Is the fallopian tube obstruction serious?

Generally speaking, blocked fallopian tubes are not a serious condition. The fallopian tube plays an important role in transporting sperm, taking in eggs and transporting fertilized eggs to the uterine cavity. Blockage of the fallopian tube hinders the passage of sperm and fertilized eggs, which can lead to ectopic pregnancy or infertility.

Hysterosalpingography can make a correct diagnosis of fallopian tube obstruction and is the most commonly used examination method to understand whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed, the degree of patency, and the specific location of blockage.

Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are the means of examining and treating female infertility. The tissues and organs in the pelvic and abdominal cavities can be clearly seen, a clear diagnosis can be made quickly, and surgical treatment can also be performed under hysteroscopy or laparoscopy.

3. Causes of fallopian tube obstruction

Although it can be caused by fallopian tube dysplasia, endometrial migration or polyps in the fallopian tube, the main cause is still due to fallopian tube inflammation. Women's unclean sexual life leads to the occurrence of sexually transmitted diseases, but they do not receive thorough and standardized treatment in regular hospitals, which causes ascending infection and salpingitis, and ultimately causes blockage of the fallopian tubes, and in severe cases can cause infertility.
