Does lumbar hyperplasia affect pregnancy?

As we all know, pregnancy is a special period and there are many things to pay attention to. Whether it is in diet or in life, you need to be extra careful. However, some pregnant women have poor lumbar spine and often suffer from back pain. In addition, their belly gradually grows after pregnancy, and their body shape also changes, which will squeeze their lumbar spine to a certain extent. So will lumbar hyperplasia affect pregnancy?

After bone hyperplasia forms, it will squeeze the surrounding area. The muscle tissue around the joints contains rich nerve fibers. When nerve fibers are stimulated and compressed, numbness and pain may occur. Especially when the nerve roots are compressed, not only local soreness and pain may occur, but similar reactions may also occur within the area under their jurisdiction.

If bone hyperplasia occurs in the cervical spine, the problem can be serious. For example, if the bone spur compresses the blood vessels, it can affect blood circulation, especially the vertebral artery that supplies blood to the brain, which can cause symptoms such as dizziness, unsteady walking, and slurred speech. If the bone spur extends into the spinal canal and compresses the spinal cord, it can also lead to paralysis, numbness, incontinence and other serious consequences.

This requires a detailed inquiry into the medical history, X-rays, and, if necessary, myelography and CT. If bone spurs are found to compress nerves, blood vessels, or other diseases in the spinal canal, such as intervertebral disc degeneration, space narrowing, pedicle inferior displacement, facet joint hyperplasia or subluxation, yellow ligament hypertrophy, congenital spinal bony stenosis, etc., it is very likely caused by bone spurs.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that bone hyperplasia is related to trauma, strain, blood stasis, wind, cold and dampness, internal obstruction of phlegm and dampness, and liver and kidney deficiency. Generally speaking, if the case is mild, you can get pregnant. If it is severe, further examination is needed. If there is no abnormality, you can get pregnant.
