What causes cervical cysts?

The cause of Nabothian cyst is similar to that of acne on the face. During the healing process of cervical erosion, the squamous epithelium of the newborn covers the cervical gland ducts or extends into the glands, blocking the gland ducts; the connective tissue hyperplasia or scarring around the glands compresses the glands, causing the gland ducts to become smaller or even blocked, and the drainage of glandular secretions is blocked. The cyst formed by the accumulation is called cervical Nabothian cyst.

Symptoms of cervical cyst

The patient's uterine fundus or posterior wall is protruding, and part of it is cystic and attractive. It can be divided into three types: subserosal, intramural and submucosal. If it is a pedunculated submucosal cyst, it can sometimes protrude outside the cervical os. According to pathological examination, the cyst wall from the mesonephric duct is mostly composed of columnar or stratified squamous epithelium, and the cyst wall from the paramesonephric duct is mostly produced by microvillous columnar epithelial cells.

The symptoms of congenital cervical Nabothian cysts are mostly not obvious. Sometimes a lump can be felt in the lower abdomen. The cervical gland ducts have metabolic functions and can secrete mucus, which can also be discharged through the glandular branches and participate in the production of some "secretions". During the recovery process of cervical erosion, if the newborn's squamous epithelium covers the cervical glandular branches or extends into the glands, it will cause blockage of the glandular branches.

Damage caused by cervical cyst

Causes Discomfort:

About 50% of endometriosis patients have concurrent infertility, and among patients with infertility of unknown cause, about 30-40% suffer from endometriosis. Endometriosis is a disease that causes uterine infertility, which is often caused by pelvic masses, adhesions, fallopian tube obstruction, poor uterine development or ovulation disorders caused by diseases. Once pregnant, the disordered endometrium is suppressed and shrinks. The treatment of endometriosis is very effective. Some cases of recurrent miscarriage are caused by endometriosis.

Menstrual Irregularities:

Endometriosis patients often experience decreased menstrual cycles, increased menstrual volume or prolonged menstruation, indicating that the patients have manifestations of ovarian dysfunction. Irregular menstruation can be used as a reference for diagnosis, but it has no practical value in diagnosis.
