Recurrence rate of hydatidiform mole in subsequent pregnancy

Many unexpected things can happen to women when they are pregnant, and hydatidiform mole is one of them. As the name suggests, hydatidiform mole is a condition in which hairs gradually grow in the female's uterus and clusters of them appear like grapes in the human body. Generally, women have to take medication after they become pregnant with a hydatidiform mole, and it will take a relatively long time before they can become pregnant again. However, some women are worried about the chance of recurrence of hydatidiform mole if they become pregnant again.

How long does it take to get pregnant again after hydatidiform mole

In fact, the chance of hydatidiform mole becoming malignant is not high. As long as it is treated promptly, effectively and systematically, most cases can be cured. Like other diseases, this disease must be diagnosed and treated early, which can not only shorten the course of the disease and reduce malignant changes, but also facilitate normal fertility in the future.

In the past, the principle was to get pregnant after two years of contraception, but if you are older or eager to get pregnant, the interval can be shortened to six months to a year as long as your physical condition permits and there are no signs of recurrence.

How to diagnose hydatidiform mole

1. Ultrasound examination

Transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography is best used. It can be seen that the uterine artery has abundant blood flow, but there is no blood flow or only sparse "star-like" blood flow signals in the myometrium.

2. hCG determination

In a normal pregnancy, hCG will be secreted a few days after the ovum is implanted. As the gestational age increases, the hCG titer gradually increases, reaching a peak at 8 to 10 weeks, and then begins to decline after 1 to 2 weeks. However, in women with hydatidiform mole, hCG levels continue to rise 8 to 10 weeks after menopause and are higher than those in normal gestational age.

I believe that after reading this article, all female friends will be able to clearly know how long it will take to get pregnant again after suffering a hydatidiform mole. As long as all conditions are good, women will be able to get pregnant again soon, and the probability of recurrence of hydatidiform mole is relatively low. We also need to do regular checkups during pregnancy.
