Why do girls have lower abdominal pain?

When it comes to girls, everyone will definitely think that girls’ physical condition is not good, and they will have various bad symptoms. If you are a girl, you must take good care of yourself. Lower abdominal pain can be said to be the most common symptom for girls. Whether it is caused by menstruation, food or fatigue, we should pay attention to it. After all, your body is your own, and it is important to understand the cause of the disease.

1. Lower abdominal pain caused by primary dysmenorrhea

Women are very likely to experience lower abdominal pain and general discomfort during their menstrual period. These are very normal physiological phenomena. If the pain is severe, this phenomenon is called dysmenorrhea. During the ovulation process of adolescent girls, the follicles will rupture and the follicular fluid will have a greater stimulating effect on the peritoneum, so they sometimes experience abdominal pain once a month.

2. Lower abdominal pain caused by secondary dysmenorrhea

Dysmenorrhea is divided into two types: primary and secondary. Primary pain is very common for adolescent women. The cause of this disease is closely related to coldness in the body, prostaglandin levels, and emotional and psychological factors. With the increase of age and the passage of time, this symptom can usually heal itself. Common causes of secondary pain are endometriosis and adenomyosis. The symptoms include gradually increasing pain, often in a cyclical pattern, or dull pain in the lower abdomen during non-menstrual periods that worsens before and after menstruation. It is often accompanied by infertility and menstrual disorders, and often requires drug treatment.

3. Lower abdominal pain caused by inflammation

Abdominal pain in women is usually caused by adnexitis and pelvic inflammatory disease. In most cases, the patients are girls of childbearing age. The pain may occur on one or both sides, and there are signs of further increase in leucorrhea. Chronic patients usually present with low back pain, dull pain or a feeling of heaviness; acute patients often present with abdominal pain that is resistant to pressure and is accompanied by fever.

4. Lower abdominal pain caused by certain gynecological diseases

For example, endometriosis usually forms lumps near the uterus, ovaries, and rectum, which can further aggravate abdominal pain before and during menstruation. Pain during sexual intercourse is one of the main characteristics. For example: pelvic bleeding or blood stasis can cause further pelvic pain, and the pain often manifests itself at the base of one thigh.

5. Lower abdominal pain caused by ovarian corpus luteum rupture

This is caused by excessive bleeding in the corpus luteum, accompanied by sudden pain in the lower abdomen or one side of the abdomen. In severe cases, shock may occur. In most cases, ovarian corpus luteum rupture occurs on the 20th to 26th day of the menstrual cycle, and pain will occur in the lower abdomen when the disease occurs. Before the corpus luteum of the ovary bleeds and ruptures, there is a high possibility that the ovaries will become congested and swollen.
