What is the reason for not having menstruation?

Women's menstruation is actually both beneficial and harmful to women. Why do I say that? First of all, the benefit of menstruation to women is that it can maintain good health and is part of metabolism. After all, the discharged blood contains certain toxins. In life, some women have irregular menstruation, and sometimes it may be difficult for them to have their period. So, what is the reason for the absence of menstruation?

Prolonged menstruation refers to menstruation lasting more than 7 days, or even continuous bleeding for half a month, with little menstrual flow, or slightly more than normal. This is called "prolonged menstruation". Prolonged menstruation should be distinguished from menorrhagia and metrorrhagia, but prolonged menstruation can also cause metrorrhagia.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that prolonged menstruation is mainly due to spleen and kidney deficiency, Chong and Ren meridians being weak, or blood heat forcing blood to flow abnormally; or blood stasis preventing new blood from returning to the meridians.

reason

The reasons for prolonged menstruation may include:

(1) Spleen deficiency and failure to retain blood: The spleen is weak and the qi is weak, or fatigue damages the spleen, which further weakens the spleen and causes failure to retain blood, resulting in the Chong and Ren meridians being unstable and continuous menstrual bleeding.

(2) Kidney Qi is not solid: Kidney Qi is deficient due to the constitution, or due to excessive sexual intercourse and childbirth, which damages the kidney Qi and causes the kidney to lose its sealing function, resulting in poor retention and prolonged menstruation.

(3) Yin deficiency and internal heat: Yin deficiency due to the constitution, or irregular sexual intercourse, or too many pregnancies or childbirths, or long-term illness or serious illness that depletes Yin essence. Yin deficiency generates internal heat, which disturbs the Chong and Ren meridians, resulting in continuous menstrual flow.

(4) Damp-heat invasion: Excessive damp-heat in the body, or sexual intercourse during menstruation, or irregular daily routines, can cause damp-heat to invade the uterus and blood, forcing the blood to flow, resulting in prolonged menstruation.

(5) Blood stasis blocking the meridians: There is old blood stasis in the body, or during the period of menstruation and childbirth, the blood chambers are just opening, and the remaining blood has not been drained out. In addition, the body is affected by cold evil, and the blood is coagulated by the cold, forming blood stasis. The blood stasis blocks the meridians, and the blood cannot return to the menstruation, resulting in a prolonged menstrual period.
