Is it normal for the labia minora to be black on the outside and pink on the inside?

The labia minora can protect the urethral opening and the vaginal opening, reduce the invasion of bacteria, and are very sensitive, which can increase sexual interest during intercourse. It is normal for the labia minora to be asymmetrical in size, larger or smaller, or have different colors on the outside and inside. However, if the abnormality is particularly obvious, it is best to go to the hospital for examination.

Labia minora

The larger pair on the outside are the labia majora, and the smaller pair on the inside are the labia minora. They are located on the inside of the labia majora, are thinner and smaller, have a smooth surface without pubic hair, and are elastic. The front end of the left and right labia minora is divided into two folds, inner and outer. The outer folds extend upward and connect to the left and right above the glans clitoris, surrounding the clitoris to form the clitoral hood (Prepuce of clitoris). The clitoral hood and the glans clitoris are separated by a small circular groove. The medial fold is shorter and smaller, with both sides attached upward to the underside of the glans clitoris, which is called the frenulum of clitoris. The posterior end of the labia minora of nulliparous women is connected to the left and right to form a transverse fold called the frenulum pudendallabia, which is the posterior limit of the vaginal vestibule. In multiparous women, the labia frenulum is often torn during childbirth. The labia minora are divided into inner and outer sides, the skin is thin, tender and rich in sebaceous glands. The outer surface is dark blue and touches the inner surface of the labia majora. The inner surface is smooth, rich in sebaceous glands, rose-colored, and similar to mucous membrane. The labia minora lacks subcutaneous fat tissue, but contains a large amount of elastic fibers, a small amount of smooth muscle and a rich venous plexus.

1. For women, after giving birth, it is mainly due to endocrine imbalance. The hormone levels before and after giving birth are different. Drastic changes in hormone levels lead to pigmentation.

2. Long-term menstrual irregularities, drug stimulation, chronic inflammation, diabetes, etc. can also cause the labia to darken.

3. Genetic reasons, such as black people

4. It is caused by too frequent sexual intercourse. Sexual intercourse can cause the labia to darken, including the vaginal opening and the inner and outer labia. During sexual intercourse, the labia is repeatedly stimulated by external friction for a long time, resulting in increased local pigmentation. The color will become darker with the passage of time. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. At the same time, the melanin produced by sexually stimulating hormones can also turn the labia into a dark color. Saying that a 20-year-old girl has black labia does not necessarily mean that she has had too much sex in the past!
