Is it normal to have yellow milk discharge in late pregnancy?

Many pregnant women will find themselves having yellow milk flowing out in the late stages of pregnancy. As we all know, breast milk is a substance that is used for babies to eat. Because the baby's digestive system is not fully developed when it is born, the baby uses the nutrients in breast milk to promote body development. Normally breast milk is milky white. So is it normal for pregnant women to have yellow milk flowing out in the late stages of pregnancy?

It is normal for yellow milk to flow out. The secretion is colostrum, so don't worry.

Guidance: The yellow milk is colostrum. Do not squeeze it out intentionally to avoid losing the colostrum. Colostrum can improve the baby's immunity and is the most natural health product for the baby.

1) Precautions during late pregnancy

1. Psychological preparation - Many pregnant women lack knowledge about childbirth and have a fear of childbirth, which affects their diet and sleep before delivery. If they can conduct prenatal examinations carefully, the safety of childbirth can be guaranteed.

2. Physiological preparation - In the later stages of pregnancy, the amount of activity should be reduced appropriately and the intensity of work should be reduced, but you cannot stay in bed all day and should exercise appropriately.

3. Self-monitoring - count fetal movements carefully every day as required, and contact a doctor in time if any abnormality is found.

① Before delivery begins, pregnant women often experience "false labor" of varying lengths, sometimes occurring after 38 weeks of pregnancy. This is an early sign of labor, not formal labor.

②Seeing blood. Generally, a small amount of bloody mucus often flows out of the vagina 2-3 days before delivery, which is called bloody show. This is a reliable sign of labor. If the vaginal discharge is not bloody mucus but blood, and it is more than the menstrual volume, it should be considered as bleeding in late pregnancy and you should go to the hospital as soon as possible.

③ Water breaks. Before delivery, a large amount of amniotic fluid flows out of the vagina, which is called water breaking. In the late pregnancy, you should know the condition of the fetal head. If the fetal head is fixed and the water breaks, you should go to the hospital immediately. If the fetal head is floating, you should lie flat immediately and be sent to the hospital by ambulance or stretcher.

2) Zinc-supplemented nutritional meals for mothers During childbirth, the mother mainly relies on uterine contractions, and the activity of ATPase in uterine muscle cells depends on the mother's blood zinc level. If there is a zinc deficiency, the contraction force of the uterus will be reduced, increasing the pain of labor and the amount of bleeding; in addition, the metabolism will accelerate after delivery, and the consumption of zinc will increase. Therefore, the chance of zinc deficiency in postpartum women is as high as 30%. If you pay attention to zinc supplementation during pregnancy, especially before delivery, your body will have a certain amount of zinc reserves. This is beneficial for both delivery and postpartum recovery. The best way to supplement zinc is through food, so mothers should pay attention to eating more zinc-rich foods, such as oysters, seaweed, dried shrimps, animal offal, egg yolks, beans, sesame paste, peanuts, walnuts, apples, etc.
