Left side lower abdomen pain during pregnancy

Left side lower abdomen pain during pregnancy

Many women experience some physical discomfort when they first become pregnant. Compared with morning sickness and loss of appetite, these are minor problems. Some friends may experience dull pain in the lower abdomen. In this case, is there any danger to the fetus? If we have just become pregnant and feel a dull pain in the left lower abdomen, it is recommended that we go to the hospital for a check-up just to be on the safe side.

What is the reason for the dull pain on the left side of the abdomen in early pregnancy

Generally speaking, left-side abdominal pain in early pregnancy is caused by two changes:

Physiological changes: If the embryo implants in the uterine cavity in the early stages of pregnancy, a small number of women will experience implantation pain. As the uterus grows and the round ligament of the uterus is stretched, many pregnant women will feel some abdominal pain. This type of pain is mostly located on one or both sides of the uterus in the lower abdomen, and is referred pain, dull pain or lack thereof. The pain becomes more obvious when walking a long distance or changing body position. These can cause left side abdominal pain in early pregnancy.

Pathological changes: If a pregnant woman experiences abdominal pain, especially pain in the lower abdomen, the first thing she should consider is whether it is a pregnancy complication. Common complications include threatened miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. If a pregnant woman experiences paroxysmal lower abdominal pain or regular abdominal pain, back pain, or pelvic pain in the first few months of pregnancy, the problem may be more complicated. If it is accompanied by vaginal spotting or a noticeable feeling of abdominal heaviness, it may indicate threatened miscarriage. If you experience severe unilateral lower abdominal pain, accompanied by vaginal bleeding or fainting, it may be an ectopic pregnancy.

Early pregnancy health care knowledge

Although some abdominal pain in early pregnancy is physiological, there is no need to worry too much. However, since most pregnant women are pregnant for the first time, they are unable to distinguish whether their normal physiological abdominal pain is a sign of fetal abnormality. Therefore, you must pay attention to your physical condition. Once you find something wrong, go to the hospital for a check-up in time to make sure that everything is fine so that you can feel more at ease.

Pregnancy is the most beautiful journey. No mother will not have a hard time. As the saying goes, raising a child for one day is the same as worrying for ninety-nine days. If you find that you have just become pregnant and have abdominal pain, and after observing your body, you still feel uneasy, go to the hospital for a detailed examination in time. This is the safest way. I wish all pregnant women a happy pregnancy journey.
