Can a woman still have children after having a vasectomy?

In modern life, people have taken many measures to enjoy a completely free and worry-free married life. For example, preventive contraception is the most commonly used measure. Among them, sterilization is the most effective way to add more freedom to women's lives. Since sterilization is to artificially block the free reproduction of organisms, many people are worried that it will affect fertility. Let's take a look at whether women can still give birth after sterilization.

After tubal ligation, the fallopian tube lumen is blocked, so that the sperm and egg have no chance to meet and combine, thus achieving the purpose of sterilization. This is currently a relatively reliable method of female sterilization.

Can some women still get pregnant after having a vasectomy? This is caused by the reconnection of the severed fallopian tubes. How does it become unblocked? According to clinical observation, there are generally the following reasons.

1. It is related to the method of ligation. Simple ligation (roll ligation) may allow the lumen to be reopened, but the embedding ligation method is now more commonly used and has a lower chance of recanalization.

2. It is related to the ligature being too loose or too tight. Generally, tubal ligation is performed after childbirth or artificial abortion. At this time, the fallopian tubes are congested, edematous, and the tissues are fragile. If silk thread is used for ligation, the fallopian tubes will become thinner as the uterus recovers after childbirth, but the tightness of the ligation thread remains unchanged. Therefore, the ligation site may loosen naturally, allowing the lumen to reopen. If the ligation is too tight, the silk thread can cut the fallopian tube, forming a fallopian tube-abdominal leak. If the leak is in the fallopian tube segment close to the uterus, the egg can enter the fallopian tube cavity through the leak, so there is a chance for the sperm and egg to meet and conception can occur.

3. It is related to the location of fallopian tube ligation. If the ligation site is in the isthmus of the fallopian tube, and the local tissue is excessively contused, it may sometimes become necrotic and fall off. Later, the two remaining ends of the fallopian tube can connect on their own and become open again.

4. Incomplete tubal ligation. Part of the fallopian tube is tied, while the other part is not tied and remains connected.

5. Mistakenly ligating the round ligament. Although this is a rare situation, it should be noted.
