What to do if you feel sick during pregnancy

Morning sickness is a relatively obvious early pregnancy reaction for pregnant women. For some people with special physical conditions, morning sickness can be extremely serious in the early pregnancy period, and they may even vomit whatever they eat. Although morning sickness is a normal phenomenon, if morning sickness is severe and no appropriate methods are taken to regulate the body, it will not only cause malnutrition in pregnant women, but will also be extremely detrimental to the development of the child. So, what should you do if you feel uncomfortable with vomiting during pregnancy?

1. What to do if your stomach is uncomfortable due to morning sickness

Before getting up, in order to reduce vomiting, pregnant women can first rinse their mouths, eat some toast, steamed buns, biscuits and other foods, then lie down for about half an hour, and then get up slowly, which can effectively prevent vomiting. Replenishing water is very important for pregnant women, but don’t be afraid of vomiting. Drink water after vomiting. Repeat this several times and you won’t vomit again. You can also add a little salt to the drink to prevent vomiting caused by low sodium. Morning sickness is milder at night, and the appetite should be increased appropriately. If necessary, an additional meal can be added before going to bed to meet the nutritional needs of the pregnant woman and the fetus.

In terms of diet, you need to increase the intake of iron-rich foods, such as the heart, liver, and kidneys of chicken, duck, pork, cattle, and sheep, as well as soybeans, broad beans, tomatoes, celery, chicken greens, black fungus, shiitake mushrooms, seaweed, peaches, red dates, longans, and raisins.

2. What to eat if morning sickness is serious

During morning sickness, pregnant mothers may experience mild picky eating, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and fatigue. Although these symptoms are normal reactions to pregnancy, it is necessary to appropriately relieve morning sickness for the sake of the health of the pregnant mother herself and the baby.

1. Choose light, easily digestible food, eat small meals frequently and change the food frequently to stimulate appetite.

2. You can take vitamin B1 and B6 orally, which can help relieve morning sickness. It should be noted that if morning sickness is mild and has little impact on life and work, treatment is usually not required.

3. Ginger can relieve morning sickness. Holding fresh ginger slices in your mouth or adding ginger juice to water or milk can relieve nausea symptoms.

3. When will morning sickness stop?

Morning sickness has a beginning and of course it will end. So when will morning sickness end? Experienced mothers know that morning sickness comes suddenly and makes you feel dizzy, but it also ends quietly. Many times, you were exhausted from vomiting yesterday, but today you have no discomfort from nausea or vomiting at all.

Morning sickness generally does not last for a long time. Half of pregnant women will experience morning sickness disappearance by the 14th week of pregnancy. Of course, some pregnant women will not experience morning sickness disappearance until the 18th week of pregnancy. It is also possible that some pregnant women will experience morning sickness throughout their pregnancy. When does morning sickness end? This depends on the pregnant mother's personal constitution, so the time when morning sickness ends cannot be uniformly calculated.
