What to check for during 5 months of pregnancy

What to check for during 5 months of pregnancy

The fifth month of pregnancy is the mid-term of pregnancy. During this period, the fetus has begun to take shape and has developed to a certain extent. In order to better confirm whether your body is healthy and detect whether the fetus is developing healthily, some specific examinations are needed when you are five months pregnant, such as routine leucorrhea examination, routine blood test, hepatitis B test, syphilis serum test and HIV test, measles antibody test and chromosome test.

1. Routine examination of leucorrhea

It helps to screen for gynecological diseases such as trichomoniasis, fungus, mycoplasma chlamydia infection and other vaginal inflammation. Women can only get pregnant if they are sure that they do not have gynecological inflammation, which is beneficial to the health of both mother and child.

2. Routine blood test

A routine blood test can tell whether a woman is anemic. If she is anemic, it is very dangerous for both the mother and the child. The child is prone to developmental delay, and the mother is prone to complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and puerperal infection. In addition, the platelet count can be used to understand the coagulation function and whether there are blood system or immune system diseases.

3. Hepatitis B test

Hepatitis B can be transmitted from mother to child. If it is discovered early, the hepatitis B "three-blocking" treatment can be carried out, and immunoglobulin protection can be given immediately to the newborn after birth, which can effectively prevent mother-to-child transmission.

4. Syphilis serum test and HIV test

What are the benefits of pre-pregnancy check-ups? Syphilis has an impact on the fetus and can cause miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, etc. However, if it is detected and treated early, it can be completely cured. After being cured, you can get pregnant with peace of mind. But AIDS is troublesome because it is the most harmful sexually transmitted disease to the human body. It subtly "eats away" the body and harms health.

5. Measles antibody test

Measles can cause fetal abnormalities. It is recommended that expectant mothers who do not have antibodies should get the measles vaccine first. However, it should be noted that you cannot get pregnant within three months after vaccination, and you must take contraceptive measures during this period.

6. Chromosome testing

This examination can help detect genetic diseases such as Klinefelter's sign and Turner syndrome early. It is especially important for couples with a history of recurrent miscarriages, fetal malformations, or a family history of genetic diseases on both sides of the family. It is best to do this prenatal examination.
