What to do if your face is itchy during pregnancy

What to do if your face is itchy during pregnancy

The body undergoes significant changes after pregnancy, and more nutrients are needed to ensure the health of the pregnant woman and the normal development of the fetus. Of course, pregnant women should be more careful not to get sick during pregnancy. However, some women experience allergies after pregnancy and don’t know what causes it. Doctors recommend keeping the surrounding environment clean and personal hygiene during pregnancy, but what should you do if you have allergic and itchy face during pregnancy?

First of all, expectant mothers should pay attention to the allergens in their living environment;

1. Keep it clean: Food to be discarded must be sealed to avoid attracting cockroaches, as cockroach excrement can cause allergies.

2. Avoid contact with dust: Use dust-proof bedding and wash it frequently.

3. Pay attention to the indoor humidity: it is best to keep it below 50﹪~60﹪, and use a dehumidifier when necessary.

4. Note that mold can cause allergies: especially in summer, mold spores will float in the air, so pay attention to air cleanliness and use an air purifier.

5. Avoid keeping pets such as cats and dogs: Cat dander is more likely to cause allergies than dog dander, and such allergens can stay in the home for up to 3 months, so it is best to send cats and dogs away before pregnancy.

6. When going out, be aware that pollen may cause allergies: When going out in the suburbs, some wild grasses and inconspicuous flowers must rely on a large amount of pollen to spread, so there is more pollen; on the contrary, bright and large flowers have less pollen. It is advisable to wear a mask at this time to avoid inhaling pollen.

7. Wear a mask as much as possible when going out in cold weather: not only can it prevent you from inhaling cold air (cold air can cause nasal and tracheal allergies), it can also prevent you from touching your hands and face. If your hands touch the outside world and you rub your eyes, it is easy to bring in viruses and cause a cold. When the temperature is below 15℃, you should be especially careful about influenza and avoid going to public places.

8. Food should not be overly restricted: Some allergy patients are allergic to food. The food that causes allergies varies from person to person. It is best to first determine what foods you are allergic to. If you cannot find the allergic food, it is not recommended to impose special restrictions on food to avoid affecting the nutritional intake of pregnant women. Foods that are generally more likely to cause allergies include: seafood, shellfish, nuts, peanuts, and you may even be allergic to certain fruits. However, it is important to remind you that alcohol is prohibited. Foods like sesame oil chicken, mutton hotpot, and ginger duck should be avoided. Wine is also a prohibited item.
