Increased body temperature after intercourse during ovulation

The ovulation period is our menstrual period. There are many things to pay attention to during this period, and having sex during the ovulation period can effectively increase the chance of pregnancy. Generally speaking, high body temperature mostly indicates pregnancy, but it can also be other situations, and high body temperature is caused by many reasons. So what does it mean if the body temperature is too high after having sex during the ovulation period?

Normal ovulation, low temperature period and high temperature period are obvious. The woman is not pregnant and has a normal cycle, with the first period being the low temperature period. After ovulation, the temperature rises due to the influence of progesterone. After the luteal phase, the corpus luteum shrinks and stops secreting progesterone. The decrease in progesterone no longer affects the body temperature regulation center, and the body temperature returns to the low temperature period. At the same time, menstruation also arrives.

Anovulation and persistent low temperature. When a woman's ovaries are dysfunctional, underdeveloped, and without ovulation and corpus luteum formation, there is no progesterone to affect the body temperature regulation center, the basal body temperature will not rise, and the body temperature will remain low.

The progesterone concentration is insufficient and the body temperature rises too slowly. If the basal body temperature rises slowly for more than 3 days and has not reached above 36.9 degrees, it is mostly a "climbing" basal body temperature, which is also a manifestation of slow corpus luteum function and corpus luteum insufficiency.

The corpus luteum is insufficient and the high temperature lasts insufficiently. During high temperatures, body temperature fluctuates greatly, and is often "saddle-style," which is also a manifestation of luteal insufficiency.

The corpus luteum functions poorly and the body temperature drops slowly. If the high temperature lasts less than 12 days, it is usually due to insufficient maintenance of the corpus luteum function, which is often one of the manifestations of corpus luteum dysfunction.

Cervical mucus method. The cervical mucus is often dense in a small quantity, or even with no mucus at all after the menstruation is over, and it is called the "dry period", indicating a non-ovulation period. In the middle of the menstrual cycle, as endocrine secretions change, mucus increases and becomes thinner, and vaginal secretions increase, which is called the "wet period."

As ovulation approaches, the mucus becomes clear, smooth and elastic, like egg white, with high stringiness and not easy to break. The last day of the appearance of this mucus ± 48 hours is the ovulation day. Therefore, when the vagina feels moist, it is the ovulation period, also known as the "fertile period." If you plan to conceive, you should choose the "wet period" before ovulation.

Self-test with ovulation test strips. Ovulation test strips predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). Within 24 to 48 hours before a woman ovulates, the luteinizing hormone (LH) in her urine will reach a peak level, and the result of self-testing with an ovulation test strip will show a positive result.

The specific testing method is usually explained on the ovulation test paper packaging (you must strictly follow the instructions to minimize errors). Unlike early pregnancy test strips, morning urine cannot be used, and urine samples should be collected at the same time every day as much as possible. Water intake should be reduced 2 hours before collecting urine, because diluted urine samples will also hinder the detection of LH peak.
