Is it good for pregnant women to eat hazelnuts?

Hazelnut is a common dried fruit and is also known as one of the four major dried fruits in the world. It has a very high nutritional value. Hazelnuts contain various vitamins, proteins, minerals and other nutrients. Eating them regularly is very good for our health. However, we all know that pregnant women have special physical conditions and are not suitable for eating this kind of thing. So, is it good for the fetus if pregnant women eat hazelnuts? Let’s take a look below.

Pregnant women can eat hazelnuts, but not in excess.

Hazelnuts contain a lot of vitamin E, which is very beneficial to the development of the fetus. Take walnuts for example. It is enough to eat one to two walnuts a day. If you also eat almonds and other nuts at the same time, you should reduce the number of walnuts appropriately.

For the fetus, the first nutrient needed for physical development is of course protein. However, for brain development, the first nutrient needed is lipids (unsaturated fatty acids).

According to research, brain cells are composed of 60% unsaturated fatty acids and 35% protein. In addition, nuts also contain 15-20% high-quality protein and more than a dozen important amino acids, which are the main components of brain nerve cells. They also contain vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B5, vitamin E and calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, etc., which are beneficial to brain nerve cells. Therefore, hazelnuts are a good product for both expectant mothers and fetuses to nourish the brain and improve intelligence.

Recommended way of eating: If you don’t want to eat hazelnuts alone, you can follow the method described above and put the ground hazelnuts in ice cream or mix them with cereal. This will also add a hazelnut flavor.

It is best to stick to 50 grams a day. Eating too much is not good for the body. A special reminder is that although hazelnuts have many benefits for expectant mothers' health care and fetal development, everything should be done in moderation, and too much is as bad as too little. Since nuts are high in oil, women's digestive function will weaken during pregnancy. If they eat too many nuts, it will "upset the stomach" and cause indigestion or even "steatorrhea", which will be counterproductive and cause more trouble and illness.
