How to monitor follicles

Follicles are something that we should pay special attention to, especially when we are preparing for pregnancy or during our menstrual period, because follicles seriously affect our fertility. There are certain requirements when monitoring follicles. Many people may not know its specific monitoring method, or have not learned about its specific detection method. So how to monitor follicles?

First, you need to see how many days your menstrual cycle is. If it is 23-26 days, which means it will come earlier every month, you should start testing follicles on the 8th day of your period. If your menstrual cycle is 30-37 days, you can start later, on the 14th day. When measuring follicles, the size of the follicles should be recorded. Generally, when the follicles reach 18mm, it means that the follicles are mature and sexual intercourse can be performed that night. Tantalum needs to have another B-ultrasound the next day to see whether the follicle has ruptured. Only when the follicle ruptures can the egg have a chance to be fertilized and pregnancy can occur. If the follicle does not rupture when tested the next day, you can ask a doctor for help if you have tested your sex hormones and they are normal. Doctors usually give you chorionic gonadotropin, which will cause the follicle to rupture.

B-ultrasound can observe whether the pregnancy site is normal (to rule out ectopic pregnancy). After 13 weeks of pregnancy, B-ultrasound can clearly show the fetus's internal organs and limbs. The data obtained from the measurements can be used to estimate fetal development. It can also determine the fetal position and placental position, evaluate placental function, and choose the method of delivery.

For ectopic pregnancy, B-ultrasound has auxiliary diagnostic significance. For pregnant women with abnormally enlarged uterus, it is possible to determine whether it is polyhydramnios or multiple pregnancy and observe whether the fetus has any malformations. If a fetus with a genetic disease and chromosomal abnormalities is suspected, a small amount of chorionic villus tissue, intrauterine umbilical cord blood or amniotic fluid can be extracted under B-ultrasound for further genetic testing.

Generally speaking, starting from the 8th day of the menstrual cycle, ultrasound monitoring should be done once every 2 days. When the diameter of the follicle is found to be 17 mm, monitoring should be changed to once a day. When the follicle matures and reaches a diameter of 20-23 mm, it should be measured twice a day if necessary until ovulation. The B-ultrasound probe frequency is 3.5MHz. Each monitoring is to observe the size and shape of both ovaries, record the number and size of follicles, the day of menstruation, etc.
