When genital warts first occur, they are mostly tiny, light red papules. The rash gradually increases in size or increases in number, merging and overlapping with each other, forming an uneven nipple-like shape. Warts of varying sizes and shapes may appear due to differences in the type of HPV that causes genital warts, the duration of infection, the individual, gender, and site of the infected person, etc. The small ones are only visible to the naked eye, while the large ones can cover the entire vulva and anus. Some are penile cancer-like, some are pigmented nevus-like, some are dot-like, some are stripe-like, some are cauliflower-like, some are leaf-like, some are spot-like, some are oyster shell-like, some are nodular, some are needle-like, some are papule-like, some are papule-vesicle-like, some are cockscomb-like, some are mushroom-like, and some are foam-like, etc. The warts are small at first and appear light red or light gray. They then gradually expand and increase in number, and their color gradually deepens to pink, brown, bright red, and some are white or even black. The surface of warts is generally moist and soft, and they bleed easily when touched. As time goes by, various secretions, leucorrhea, dirt or bleeding will be accumulated in the gaps, causing them to appear like blood scabs or thick juice, which often has a foul odor. In a few warts, the keratin is thickened and the surface may become hard.
