The dangers of birth control rings

The dangers of birth control rings

The contraceptive ring can be used for contraception. In modern society, many people are troubled by contraception. The contraceptive ring is a thing that is installed in the female uterus. Generally speaking, there are certain hazards in the body when there are foreign objects, but many people do not know its specific hazards, or have not understood the hazards of the contraceptive ring in the body. So what are the hazards of the contraceptive ring?

Bleeding: Most women will have a small amount of bleeding 3-4 days after the IUD is inserted. This is because the IUD, as a foreign body, stimulates the uterus to contract, causing the IUD to rub against the endometrium and cause bleeding. Some women may also cause bleeding by scratching the cervical canal endometrium or endometrium when wearing the IUD. Most women have very little bleeding and do not need treatment, and the bleeding will heal within a week after the IUD is inserted.

Increased menstrual flow In the early stages of IUD placement, especially in the first three months, some women will experience varying degrees of increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual periods, or irregular spotting. This is mainly due to the friction between the contraceptive ring and the endometrium when the endometrium is shed, causing damage to the endometrium. Generally, it will get better naturally after three months.

A few women may experience lower abdominal pain or back pain after having the IUD inserted. This is mainly because some people's uterus is more sensitive to the IUD and they regard it as an "invader", causing uterine contractions and producing mild lower abdominal pain or back pain. After a short period of adaptation, the symptoms will disappear on their own.

If you wear a contraceptive ring with a tail thread, the long-term contact and friction stimulation of the tail thread on the cervical membrane may cause a significant increase in cervical secretions, that is, an increase in leucorrhea. Similarly, an IUD without a tail thread can act as a foreign body, irritating the endometrium and causing increased secretions. After a period of time, when the endometrial tissue has fully adapted, the amount of leucorrhea will naturally decrease. If shortly after the IUD is inserted, not only does the amount of vaginal discharge increase significantly, but it also becomes yellow and purulent, and is accompanied by fever, lower abdominal pain and other discomforts, it is very likely that an infection has occurred and you need to seek medical attention promptly.

Infection: With the improvement of medical conditions and the advancement of technology, when inserting the contraceptive ring, doctors will strictly disinfect the woman's vulva, vagina and endometrium, and infection rarely occurs. However, a small number of people did become infected. Analyzing the causes, most of them are due to failure to pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene after the IUD is inserted, or having a history of genital tract inflammation, or having sexual intercourse too early or having frequent sexual intercourse after the IUD is inserted, which can cause infection. After antibiotic treatment, it can generally be effectively controlled.
