Why do I feel nothing during sex after having the second child?

With the development of the two-child policy, many families are beginning to prepare to have a second child. However, some mothers who already have a second child found that their sex life began to decline significantly after giving birth to the second child. It's not just family reasons, but more because I started to lose feeling in my body. What is going on? In fact, this situation is likely caused by low estrogen or lack of vitamin B2.

Causes of low estrogen

Estrogen can promote the development of female organs, ovulation, and participate in the formation of the menstrual cycle. What causes low estrogen? Hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction, premature ovarian failure, menopausal syndrome, and poor eating habits are all causes of low estrogen.

1. Hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction: mainly seen in anterior pituitary diseases, such as Sheehan's syndrome. High concentrations of prolactin (PRL) directly inhibit the synthesis and secretion of estrogen by the ovaries.

2. Premature ovarian failure: After women mature, they experience functional failure before the age of 35 and their estrogen secretion decreases.

3. Pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome: When the symptoms are severe, estrogen levels decrease, and extremely low levels indicate the possibility of intrauterine fetal death.

4. Cirrhosis: The liver is the main site of estrogen inactivation, and estrogen inactivation is reduced in cirrhosis.

5. Perimenopausal syndrome: During perimenopause, the estrogen level in women decreases, and they experience menopausal symptoms, urogenital tract atrophy, osteoporosis, etc.

6. Bad eating habits: Estrogen levels are related to diet. Dieting, picky eating or irregular eating habits can easily affect your endocrine system and cause an imbalance in hormone levels.

Symptoms of Low Estrogen

Estrogen is an important hormone for women. If the estrogen level is low, it will affect women's normal physical condition. What are the symptoms of low estrogen? When estrogen secretion decreases, a series of symptoms such as chest tightness, palpitations, hot flashes and night sweats, menstrual disorders, decreased libido, vaginal atrophy, and urinary tract inflammation may easily occur.

1. Cardiovascular symptoms: Pseudo-angina occurs, sometimes accompanied by palpitations, chest tightness, etc., characterized by multiple symptoms, few signs, and good myocardial function.

2. Vasomotor symptoms: manifested as hot flashes and sweating. The decrease in estrogen makes it unable to play its role in maintaining vascular stability.

3. Senile vaginitis: The vagina becomes narrower and atrophied, often accompanied by vaginal dryness and pain during sexual intercourse.

4. Atrophic urethritis and cystitis: manifested by frequent urination, urgency, pain, and incontinence.

5. Osteoporosis: Estrogen deficiency leads to a large amount of bone loss, which can easily cause osteoporosis and even fractures.

6. Cardiovascular disease: The decrease of estrogen causes blood lipid disorder, which is the main reason for the increase of coronary heart disease.

7. Menstrual disorders: Estrogen is involved in the formation of the menstrual cycle. Without estrogen, the endometrium will not grow or shed naturally.

8. Decreased libido: Vaginal secretions decrease, and pain occurs during sexual intercourse, which leads to a decrease in the number of sexual intercourse or an aversion to sexual intercourse.

9. Breast symptoms: The breast is a sex gland organ. When estrogen is low, breast hypoplasia or atrophy often occurs.

10. Obesity: Estrogen is involved in the metabolism of sugar and fat in the human body. The decrease in estrogen secretion can easily lead to the accumulation of undecomposed fat and cause obesity.

What to do if estrogen is low

1. Dietary conditioning: Dietary therapy plays a certain role in supplementing estrogen, but it cannot replace drug therapy. If you choose your food carefully, you can also get natural and safe phytoestrogens from it. There are two main types of phytoestrogens: isoflavones and lignans. Isoflavones are mainly found in beans, fruits and vegetables, especially soybeans. Lignans are mainly found in lentils, cereals, wheat and black rice, as well as fennel, sunflower seeds, onions and other foods.

2. Medication regulation: Appropriate drug dosage and medication course are very important. Since estrogen may cause side effects such as nausea and vomiting, obesity, and cancer, it is necessary to start with a small dose and gradually increase the dosage under the guidance of a doctor until the optimal therapeutic dose is reached. In premenopausal women, estrogen secretion is continuous. Although it varies slightly at different stages of the menstrual cycle, a high estrogen level is maintained at all times.
