In life, many women will encounter one problem or another during menstruation, such as irregular menstruation or abnormal menstrual blood and so on. Faced with such symptoms, female friends must be cautious and receive treatment as soon as possible to avoid more serious gynecological diseases. For patients with irregular menstruation, they can take norethindrone tablets for treatment. So, how many days after stopping norethindrone tablets will menstruation come? Generally, menstruation comes within 7 days after stopping the medication. If it does not come for more than 10 days, it is recommended to do an early pregnancy test and then start taking medication for the next cycle after ruling out early pregnancy. As long as menstruation occurs, take it according to the time of the last menstrual cycle. Dosage 1. Treatment of functional uterine bleeding: Oral administration, 5 mg each time, once every 8 hours, for 3 consecutive days. After the bleeding stops, change to once every 12 hours. After 7 days, it must be maintained at 2.5-3.75 mg each time. Use continuously for about 2 weeks. 2. Dysmenorrhea or excessive endometrial growth: Oral administration, 2.5 mg per day, for 20 consecutive days, starting on the 5th day of the next menstrual cycle, 3 to 6 cycles as a course of treatment. 3. Endometriosis: Oral administration, 10-30 mg per day, initially 10 mg per day, increase by 5 mg after every two weeks, up to a maximum of 30 mg per day, taken in divided doses, for 6-9 months. 4. Contraceptive pills for visiting relatives: take one pill the day before or at noon on the day of the visit, and then take one pill every night for at least 10 to 14 days. If necessary, you can switch to short-acting oral contraceptives. Precautions 1. Use with caution within 4 months of pregnancy and should not be used as an early pregnancy test. 2. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, renal impairment, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, migraine, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, a history of thrombosis (except for treatment of advanced cancer), gallbladder disease, and a history of depression. 3. Long-term medication requires liver function checks, with special attention to breast examinations. Drug interactions Taking rifampicin, chloramphenicol, ampicillin, phenobarbital, phenytoin sodium, primidone, meprobamate, chlordiazepoxide, acetaminophen and pyrazolone analgesics (phenylbutazone) at the same time can produce hepatic microsomal enzyme effects, accelerate the metabolism of norethindrone in the body, and lead to an increased incidence of contraceptive failure and breakthrough bleeding. Caution should be exercised. |
