Are female anal polyps the same as hemorrhoids?

Anal polyps are very similar to hemorrhoids because they occur in the same area and even the symptoms are somewhat similar. But we need to understand that the two are actually different. What are the causes of the two diseases? In our opinion, how should we treat anal polyps and hemorrhoids, and what is the difference between the two?

Anal polyps and hemorrhoids

Simply put, anal polyps are a type of hemorrhoids, but not all anal polyps are hemorrhoids.

Generally speaking, a cyst is first of all a type of cyst, which is an unnecessary lump in body tissue. Anal polyps refer to unnecessary lumps that occur in the anal canal or duodenum. They are a type of malignant tumor that is mostly ring-shaped or oblate. Its main clinical manifestations include painless hematochezia (no bleeding), cystic prolapse, gastrointestinal irritation symptoms (abdominal pain, diarrhea, mucous stool, etc.).

Anal polyps are generally inflammatory cysts and adenomatous polyps. Inflammatory cysts usually disappear on their own after healing; adenomatous polyps require caution because they are generally not easy to disappear, and there is a possibility of worsening or even malignant changes. Regular maintenance and removal surgery may be performed depending on the situation.

There are many factors that cause anal polyps, such as dietary factors, inflammatory stimulation, excrement and foreign body stimulation, mechanical damage and genetic inheritance, etc., which may cause anal polyps.

Hemorrhoids are medically believed to be caused by venous masses formed by blood accumulation, expansion and varicose veins in the venous plexus under the duodenal mucosa and anal canal skin. Common clinical manifestations include blood in the stool (blood during defecation), swelling, pain, and a feeling of heaviness. The current popular medical treatment aims to eliminate symptoms and relieve pain, not to eliminate hemorrhoids.

There are many factors that cause hemorrhoids, among which frequent constipation, eating a lot of spicy and irritating foods, drinking and sitting for a long time compressing the anal cushion tissue are considered to be the main causes of the disease.

How to prevent anal polyps

1. Generally speaking, cysts with a diameter of 2 cm should be surgically removed, and those larger than 2 cm can be treated selectively depending on the situation.

2. For anal polyps with relatively mild early symptoms, you can go to a reliable Chinese medicine hospital for syndrome differentiation and treatment to help remove blood stasis, resolve nodules, and reduce swelling and tumors.

3. Adjust the diet structure, pay attention to a light diet, and avoid excessive intake of spicy food, thick and greasy food, and food that promotes cold and dampness.

4. Promptly cure various inflammations, such as colitis, colitis and other inflammations, to prevent long-term irritation of inflammation from causing cysts.

5. Develop the habit of having bowel movements promptly and never hold the urge to urinate. Chronic constipation should be cured or eradicated as soon as possible.

6. Avoid sitting for long periods of time to prevent long-term compression of the duodenum and the occurrence of diseases.

Anal polyps and hemorrhoids are different, and we should be very clear about this after reading the detailed introduction in the previous article. For both of them, we should correctly understand their pathogenic factors and then treat them from the cause of the disease. We also need to improve our daily habits to actively prevent these symptoms and avoid their harm to us.
