Generally, stretch marks begin to appear after a few months of pregnancy

Since the beginning of pregnancy, we have the strong power of maternal love. Many mothers will definitely cherish every bit of this baby. But after the baby is born, while pampering the baby, we should also take good care of our own bodies. After giving birth, some mothers will lose their body shape and some will have stretch marks. So how many months of pregnancy will stretch marks appear?

How many months of pregnancy will stretch marks appear

1. When a woman is pregnant for more than three months, the enlarged uterus protrudes from the pelvis and moves toward the abdomen. As the fetus continues to grow and develop, the abdomen continues to swell, the skin collagen fibers and waist muscles begin to stretch excessively, and as the pregnancy week increases, many fiber cells in the subcutaneous tissue are eventually "torn apart". After the 6th month of pregnancy, the abdomen bulges rapidly. At this time, the collagen fibers in the skin gradually break down, and stretch marks become more obvious.

2. The growth and development of stretch marks vary from person to person. Depending on the physical fitness of the pregnant woman, the time when stretch marks begin to grow and develop will also be different. But generally speaking, pregnant women will begin to see stretch marks during the 5th to 6th month of pregnancy, usually appearing in the thighs and abdomen. Due to the different elasticity of pregnant women's skin, some pregnant women will not develop stretch marks until the late pregnancy or even a month before delivery, and some pregnant women may not have stretch marks even during the entire pregnancy. This is all normal.

During pregnancy, the body secretes a lot of hormones, which increase the elasticity of skin elastic fibers and fibroblasts. Therefore, when the stretch degree of skin elastic fibers and fibroblasts reaches a certain extent, the elastic fibers and fibroblasts will rupture, thus forming stretch marks.

The abdomen is very large. When pregnancy exceeds 3 months, the pregnant mother's uterus expands toward the abdomen. Affected by the expanded uterus, skin collagen fibers and waist muscles begin to stretch. When it exceeds a certain extent, the collagen fibers in the skin break down and the rectus abdominis tendon also separates to varying degrees. As a result, irregular longitudinal cracks of light pink or dark purple appear on the skin of the abdomen. This is stretch marks.
