When can the drug flow be discharged?

I believe that many friends who have experienced medical abortion know that the process of medical abortion usually takes about two weeks. As long as it does not exceed two weeks, it is a normal phenomenon. After medical abortion, you should go to the hospital for relevant follow-up examinations to determine whether the abortion is complete. If it is not complete, you can do a uterine curettage. These are very important.

Basic process

1. Strict screening before medication, including asking about medical history, conducting a full physical examination and gynecological examination, laboratory tests such as urine pregnancy test, vaginal cleanliness, Trichomonas and fungi, blood routine and blood type, and B-ultrasound examination if necessary.

2. The doctor will explain in detail the method of taking the medicine, the efficacy of the medicine and the possible side effects, and the medicine can only be used after obtaining consent.

3. Currently commonly used dosage: Mifepristone dosage is 150-200 mg, which can be taken all at once or divided into several doses within 3 days. On the third day, go to the hospital to add prostaglandin preparations: 1 mg of Carprostol suppository placed in the vagina or 600 micrograms of misoprostol taken orally. Observe in hospital for 6 hours.

4. Monitoring during abortion: During the hospitalization observation period, in addition to paying attention to blood pressure, pulse, and side effects of drugs, all urine and feces must be kept in a clean bedpan, and a dedicated person will check and record the presence of a gestational sac and the time of its excretion, the size of the gestational sac, and the amount of bleeding. If there is active bleeding before or after the expulsion of the fetal sac, uterotonics can be given or curettage can be performed immediately to stop the bleeding.

5. If the fetal sac has not been expelled and bleeding is not excessive after 6 hours of observation, you can go home and follow up on the date specified by the doctor. If tissue is passed at home, it should be brought to the doctor for examination. It usually takes three to four days to terminate an unwanted pregnancy with medical abortion. Under normal circumstances, it takes four days to take the medicine for medical abortion, on an empty stomach, one tablet each morning and evening for the first three days, and three tablets at a time on the fourth day. Generally, there is no feeling in the first three days, but the pain becomes more severe after taking the medicine on the fourth day. Some individuals do not react obviously. Not only does medical abortion take a long time, but it also generally requires about 2 weeks of rest. After medical abortion, you should pay attention to vaginal bleeding. Once the amount of vaginal bleeding is greater than the usual menstrual volume or is accompanied by other discomfort symptoms, you must go to the hospital in time to avoid unnecessary trouble to your health.

Precautions before medical abortion

1. Perform B-ultrasound examination before medical abortion to rule out ectopic pregnancy and understand the size and position of the embryonic sac to help determine whether medical abortion is suitable.

2. Medical abortion can only be performed on women who conceived within 50 days of amenorrhea and are under 34 years old.

3. Be in good physical condition and have no contraindications. The so-called contraindications include: past or current severe systemic diseases, liver and kidney dysfunction, allergic constitution, heart disease, hypertension, anemia, asthma, glaucoma, skin itching during pregnancy, etc.

4. Go to a hospital with emergency treatment, curettage, blood transfusion and infusion facilities for medical abortion, and observe carefully to prevent any accidents.

5. Strictly following the doctor's orders and returning for follow-up visits on time are important precautions before medical abortion. Today, when medical abortion has become a trend, the precautions before medical abortion are also very complicated and necessary. Therefore, before using medical abortion, you must fully understand the precautions before using medical abortion.

Precautions after medical abortion

1. After the tissue is discharged, you need to stay in the hospital for observation for 1 hour. If the vaginal bleeding is not too much, you can go home and rest.

2. Get adequate rest within 2 weeks after miscarriage, eat nutritious food, and avoid heavy physical labor.

3. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the perineum. Do not take a bath or have sexual intercourse when vaginal bleeding has not stopped.

4. In the first 2 to 3 days after abortion, the amount of vaginal bleeding is generally equivalent to or slightly more than the menstrual amount. If the amount of vaginal bleeding is heavy or persistent, seek medical attention promptly.

5. Patients with no tissue discharge should be observed for 2 weeks after taking the medicine, and attention should be paid to whether there is any tissue discharge during defecation and urination. Weekly urine pregnancy tests.

6. Ovulation may resume soon after miscarriage, so contraceptive measures should be taken to avoid pregnancy again.
