Is chronic cervicitis difficult to treat? How to treat it?

Chronic cervicitis does not just refer to one disease, but a combination of multiple diseases, including cervical erosion, cervical polyps and other diseases. In daily life, once a woman suffers from such a disease, her leucorrhea may also be affected, changing from colorless and odorless to milky white, or even as sticky as glue. Since this disease is so harmful, is chronic cervicitis difficult to treat?

How to treat chronic cervicitis

The main method of treating chronic cervicitis is local treatment, which can be achieved through physical therapy, drug therapy and surgical treatment. Among these methods, physical therapy is the most commonly used and can be effectively treated according to the degree of erosion of the patient. There are mainly the following types:

1. Drug treatment can be used for cases with small erosion areas and shallow inflammatory infiltration, such as Chinese medicine prescriptions or formulas. Interferon is also a good drug for the treatment of cervicitis.

2. Physical therapy

Physical therapy can be used for cervical erosion with a larger erosion area and deeper inflammatory infiltration. Treatment methods such as electric ironing, cryotherapy, laser therapy, and KS instrument therapy are common in clinical practice. During the treatment with the above methods, attention must be paid to the cleanliness of the vulva, and sexual intercourse, vaginal irrigation and sitz baths should be prohibited. The healing of the erosion surface should also be checked regularly.

3. If surgical treatment is ineffective for both medication and physical therapy, or if the cervical erosion is deep or large in area, or if the cervix is enlarged, cervical conization can be performed for treatment.
