Black clots in menstruation

Black clots in menstruation

We often live in a fast-paced life. In order to adapt to this rhythm and keep up with the pace of the times, many women's work and rest, diet and other aspects have gradually become uncoordinated. Even during menstruation, we don’t pay attention to it, eat raw, cold and spicy food, drink beer and cold drinks without any restrictions, go to bed late and get up early, or even stay up all night; these behaviors will cause irreversible damage to our bodies and cause problems with our menstruation. Once the menstrual period is black, what harm will it do to us?

Possible causes:

Under normal circumstances, menstruation is bright red, without purple or dark blood clots. Once menstruation with blood clots occurs, it is often accompanied by dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea often causes patients to become mentally tense and emotionally unstable. Women who have blood clots during their menstruation are believed by traditional Chinese medicine to be suffering from blood stasis, and often have symptoms of qi stagnation and blood stasis, such as rough, dull facial skin and acne. Some patients experience facial pigmentation, which directly affects their facial beauty.

Preparation method:

In this case, Chinese medicine can generally be used for treatment. According to the symptoms and signs, the methods of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, regulating qi and unblocking collaterals can have better effects. Herbs such as safflower, peach kernel, mint, kuncao, zelan, and red peony root have good effects on improving symptoms and signs. However, this should be taken under the guidance of a doctor. Those with clogged periods should pay attention to menstrual protection, keep warm in winter to prevent catching cold, avoid eating raw or cold food, avoid overwork, maintain a happy mood, and combine work and rest. For those with facial pigmentation, they can be cured by treating the disease externally and internally and regulating menstruation.

If the menstrual blood is dark red with blood clots, it is a sign of "blood stasis and qi stagnation" and can be treated with ingredients such as Chuanxiong, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Safflower. If the menstrual blood is less in quantity and lighter in color, it is a sign of "blood deficiency and body weakness" and you should use angelica, astragalus, rehmannia, longan, ginseng, etc. to nourish the body. If you have cold hands and feet, eat cinnamon twigs, fennel, and mugwort to warm your body.

Improve your diet --- high-protein, low-fat foods, take more vitamins C and E to promote blood circulation in the pelvis and reduce pain caused by congestion, and supplement with calcium and magnesium to relax the muscles

Foods that should not be eaten - During the 3 days before the menstrual period, the food should be warm. Eat less grilled, fried, spicy or pickled foods, and avoid watermelon, pear, coconut and grapefruit to avoid affecting blood vessel constriction. Cabbage, bitter gourd, and white radish should be cut and heated before eating

Ginger and jujube sweet tea (everyone knows this)--Peel the ginger, flatten it with the back of a knife, put the ginger and red dates into a pot, add water and boil over high heat, then simmer for 5 minutes, add brown sugar

You can also eat motherwort. It is not advisable to drink brown sugar before going to bed, and you should not drink it when you have a sore throat. Motherwort is actually not good for the stomach, so don't eat it if you can.

Menstrual blood is dark red like venous blood, but bright red when the amount is excessive. It contains degenerated omental fragments, cervical mucus, vaginal epithelial cells, a large number of bacteria and vulvar sebaceous gland secretions. The main characteristic of menstrual blood is that it does not coagulate, which is due to fibrinolysis. Menstrual blood is coagulated just after leaving the blood circulation, but the endometrium that begins to peel off contains more activators, which can activate the plasminogen mixed in the menstrual blood into plasmin, breaking down the coagulated fibrin into mobile degradable substances, and turning the menstrual blood into liquid state. The non-coagulation of menstrual blood is not only limited to the cervical cavity, but the cervical mucus also contains fibrinolytic enzymes. Therefore, the non-coagulation of menstrual blood is the result of the simultaneous action of both the coagulation and thrombolysis systems. However, if the blood flows too quickly and the anticoagulant in the uterus is relatively insufficient, blood clots will flow out. Therefore, the presence of blood clots in menstrual blood is a sign of heavy menstrual bleeding and rapid blood flow.
