In life, many people are keen on sexual intercourse. For both men and women, sexual intercourse should be moderate. Some women will have various symptoms in their bodies after intercourse, and some will have obvious symptoms of vaginal bleeding. Such situations should be taken seriously. Generally speaking, women should pay attention to conditioning if they have vaginal bleeding after intercourse. Of course, this is not an absolute factor. So what's wrong with vaginal bleeding a few days after intercourse? 1. Common causes Postcoital bleeding refers to vaginal bleeding that occurs during or immediately after sexual intercourse outside of the menstrual period. Although the amount of bleeding is not much and the duration is not long, and most of the bleeding can stop on its own, it causes serious psychological trauma to women, causing fear of sexual life and affecting the quality of personal and family life. In fact, bleeding after sexual intercourse is a common gynecological symptom with complex causes. The main cause is some lesions on the surface of the cervix, such as cervical polyps, infection, ectropion, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia or cervical cancer. 2. Cervical erosion-like changes Cervical erosion-like changes are a common manifestation in women. When the cervix is in normal condition, it can have a good defense function to prevent bacteria or pathogens from invading the upper reproductive tract. But it is also vulnerable to various injuries. When the cervix is infected, cervical congestion and mucosal eversion will occur. Studies have found that patients with moderate to severe cervical erosion-like changes are more likely to experience bleeding after sexual intercourse. 3. Submucous uterine fibroids There is a tumor pedicle connecting the submucosal uterine fibroids to the uterine wall. The tumor pedicle is thin and has a poor blood supply, which can easily lead to necrosis, infection, and bleeding of the tumor due to ischemia. Sexual intercourse is more likely to cause bleeding. Submucosal uterine fibroids should be removed upon discovery, and the specimens should be routinely sent for pathological examination. 4. Urethra caruncle Urethral caruncle is a benign growth formed by long-term chronic inflammatory stimulation and hyperplasia of the mucosa of the external urethral opening. It is more common in menopausal or elderly women. Therefore, its occurrence is related to ovarian dysfunction and a significant lack of estrogen. Gynecological examination may reveal a mung bean or soybean-sized swelling at the urethral opening, which is dark red or bright red in color. It can cause pain during sexual intercourse and bleeding after sexual intercourse. Urethral caruncle can be cauterized under topical anesthesia, and larger caruncle can also be removed surgically. |
