Increased vaginal discharge after salpingography

Increased vaginal discharge after salpingography

Hysterosalpingography is a common test used to examine the fallopian tubes. It is mainly used to rule out blockage and lesions in the fallopian tubes, and can also check the health of the uterus. Some women with gynecological diseases or infertility need to undergo this examination, but some women experience increased vaginal discharge after the hysterosalpingography examination. This may be due to infection during the examination. It is necessary to check whether it is caused by inflammation.

1. Reasons

1. If it is caused by infection after hysterosalpingography, you can go to a gynecological hospital to check whether there is inflammation.

2. Caused by fungal vaginitis. Fungal vaginitis is a vaginitis caused by fungal infection. Symptoms include severe itching of the vulva, even ulceration and pain, and vaginal burning pain, which is more obvious during urination.

3. Pay attention to personal hygiene and do not take a bath in a tub to reduce infection and risk of being infected.

Second, the imaging steps:

A double-lumen single-balloon catheter is inserted into the cervical canal through the vagina, and contrast agent is injected. The flow of contrast agent through the uterine cavity and fallopian tube is observed under X-ray or ultrasound.

3. People who are not suitable for salpingography: People who are pregnant, menstruating, have abnormal uterine bleeding, or within 6 weeks after childbirth, abortion, or curettage should not undergo salpingography. Patients with reproductive system inflammation or severe systemic diseases are also not suitable for salpingography.

4. Preparation before angiography:

1. Sexual intercourse is prohibited within 3-7 days after the end of menstruation before surgery, and pregnancy is ruled out.

2. Check the leucorrhea to rule out inflammation of the reproductive system.

3. Atropine can be injected intramuscularly half an hour before the operation to relieve spasms and prevent stimulation of the cervix leading to cardio-cerebral syndrome or causing fallopian tube spasm.

4. If iodized oil contrast medium is used, an iodine allergy test is required.

5. Precautions after angiography:

1. If you experience dizziness, rash, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, etc., you may be allergic to iodine contrast agent and need to seek medical attention immediately.

2. During the month of angiography, sexual intercourse and bathing should be avoided, and oral antibiotics should be taken to prevent infection. If there are fever, lower abdominal pain, abnormal leucorrhea and other discomforts, anti-infection treatment is required.

3. Mild lower abdominal pain and a small amount of vaginal bleeding after angiography are normal. If the abdominal pain is severe or the vaginal bleeding exceeds the menstrual volume, there may be uterine perforation or cervical laceration.

4. In addition to its inspection function, hysterosalpingography also has a slight effect of clearing the fallopian tubes. After the examination, you can see the reproductive department for guidance on the next pregnancy preparation plan. If the fallopian tubes are unobstructed, you can actively try to get pregnant.
