What should I do if I get pregnant during the month of the angiography?

I believe that many women of childbearing age have experienced gynecological diseases, and some women have experienced long-term infertility. These problems require angiography. Female infertility examination is a key prerequisite for the treatment of female infertility. Currently, common fallopian tube examination methods mainly include fallopian tube perfusion and fallopian tube angiography. So can you get pregnant after hysterosalpingography? What should I do if I get pregnant during the month of angiography?

1. Preparation before the inspection

1. The time for hysterosalpingography should be 3-7 days after the end of menstruation, and sexual intercourse should be strictly prohibited 3 days before the operation to prevent infection.

2. Female patients should undergo detailed examinations before surgery, especially gynecological examinations and routine examinations of leucorrhea, to rule out acute and chronic internal and external genital inflammation.

3. Before salpingography, patients with severe systemic diseases who cannot tolerate surgery need to be excluded. Do not perform salpingography within 6 weeks after childbirth, miscarriage, or curettage.

4. Using imaging technology for examination can prevent fallopian tube infection caused by repeated examinations, and can play a good protective role in women's health. Therefore, women must do a good job of hygiene and cleaning before the examination.

2. Imaging Process

⑴ The fallopian tubes are unobstructed: The uterus is filled and shaped like an inverted triangle. The fallopian tubes on both sides are bent like worms on both sides of the uterus. The contrast agent first fills the narrow part of the proximal end of the fallopian tube and then quickly fills the end of the ampulla. Then it diffuses from the umbrella tip to the pelvic cavity.

⑵ Fallopian tube obstruction: The fallopian tube is not visualized at all or is no longer visualized after a period of visualization, and the resistance increases when a certain dose of contrast agent is injected, and there is no contrast agent shadow diffusion in the pelvic cavity.

⑶ The fallopian tube is open but not smooth: there is resistance when pushing the contrast agent, and the contrast agent enters the pelvic cavity slowly. More than ten minutes after stopping the injection of the contrast agent, the contrast agent can be seen diffusing in the pelvic cavity, but the diffusion is poor.

⑷ Hydrosalpinx: Contrast medium accumulates in the fallopian tube, causing the fallopian tube to abnormally dilate into a sac-like or sausage-like shape, which is more obvious at the distal end and is often accompanied by obstruction of the fimbria of the fallopian tube. There is generally no diffusion of contrast agent in the pelvic cavity.

⑸ Adhesions around the fimbria of the fallopian tube: The contrast agent can enter the abdominal cavity, but accumulates around the fimbria of the fallopian tube.

3. What to do if you get pregnant during the month of angiography

Experts say that the time limit for pregnancy after hysterosalpingography varies depending on the type of hysterosalpingography contrast agent used. Some contrast agents allow pregnancy within the next month, while others may require waiting three months or even half a year before pregnancy. Therefore, female friends should get pregnant under the guidance of a doctor. In fact, hysterosalpingography is usually performed within 3 to 7 days after the end of a woman's menstruation. Because this is not the woman's ovulation period, it generally does not have much impact on the eggs.

Experts remind female friends that in order to ensure a healthy baby, female friends who have undergone hysterosalpingography should wait six months before getting pregnant, and must go to the hospital for a check-up before getting pregnant to ensure that the body is suitable for pregnancy, so as to avoid the situation of getting an unhealthy baby.
