What is testicular burning?

The testicles are one of the most important reproductive organs of men. Generally speaking, men's testicles are in a relatively hidden space, so it is difficult to be disturbed by external factors. However, if men do not pay attention to the care of their private parts, problems may arise with their testicles. For example, some friends feel a burning sensation in their testicles, and even in severe cases there is obvious pain. What is the reason for this?

Causes of pain

Many men suffer from testicular problems. Due to their lack of knowledge, many men will blindly choose treatment methods, which makes the undiagnosed condition more serious. There are many causes of testicular pain, but the main ones are testicular torsion, testicular injury, orchitis, and testicular ischemic pain.

1. Testicular torsion. Testicular torsion is one of the common emergencies in the scrotum. Generally, there is strenuous activity a few hours before the onset of the disease, or the testicles have been subjected to external force. Sudden severe testicular pain during sleep or quiet time is the first symptom of the disease and one of the main diagnostic bases. Some patients also have nausea and vomiting, scrotal swelling, and obvious tenderness.

2. Testicular damage. The testicles are more mobile in the scrotum and are protected by a tough white membrane, so the chance of closed injury is small. Testicular injuries are mostly related to violence, car accidents, etc. After the injury, the testicles will be severely painful accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and even fainting or shock. During the physical examination, there will be swollen testicles, unclear contours or scrotal congestion, and obvious tenderness. B-ultrasound and CT not only help in the diagnosis of this disease, but also can clarify the location and extent of testicular injury.

3. Testicular ischemic pain. Testicular ischemic pain is more common in the elderly. The pain is severe, aggravated by activity and relieved by rest. Microscopic examination of prostatic fluid is normal. It is often caused by testicular arteriosclerosis leading to arterial stenosis. Testicular artery atherosclerosis is often a local manifestation of systemic vascular disease, mostly unilateral lesions, more common on the left side than on the right side.

4. Orchitis. The testicles are located in the scrotum, one on each side. The testicles secrete male hormones and play an important role in the development and maturation of male reproductive organs and the appearance of male secondary sexual characteristics. There are many causes of orchitis. For example, patients with mumps may suffer from orchitis, testicular pain and swelling. Gonorrhea is the sexually transmitted disease with the highest incidence rate, which can cause orchitis in severe cases. Chronic prostatitis can also cause testicular pain, which manifests as unilateral pain, mostly dull pain or pulling pain, which is continuous. Most patients are young and middle-aged people, and it is rare in the elderly.

Analytical treatment

There are many causes of orchitis, such as infection, trauma, and tumors. It is also one of the common diseases in men's clinics. According to international andrology experts, when patients describe their symptoms, the nature of the pain varies depending on the type of disease, including bloating, heaviness, and knife-like pain; the degree of pain also varies, including dull pain and severe pain. In addition to the pain caused by testicular lesions themselves, lesions and inflammation of the epididymis and spermatic cord in the scrotum also often cause testicular pain.

Acute pain

Testicular pain is often caused by orchitis and injury.

Chronic pain

In mild cases, the condition lasts for a long time. The pain is mild, generalized, and radiates, so it is not easy to determine the exact location of the inflammation. Testicular pain is not necessarily proportional to the severity of inflammation. Some people have very sensitive nerves, and mild inflammation can cause more severe pain; while some people are relatively slow and feel that the pain is mild.

Some pain occurs after sexual intercourse, which may be due to sexual excitement causing the genitals and gonads to become highly congested. Some pain is caused by varicose veins of the spermatic cord or pain radiating from other parts of the body.

If only one testicle is painful, it may be due to:

(1) It may be because the erection lasts too long without ejaculation;

(2) This may be due to excessive tension in the vaginal muscles. You can try taking a hot bath to solve this problem.

(3) Swelling and pain may be caused by friction and sprain;

(4) It may be due to bacterial infection. If it is caused by bacterial infection, urination will be difficult. It is recommended to see a doctor.

If the pain does not go away, or becomes more severe (such as obvious changes in the shape of the testicles, lumps, hyperplasia, etc.), be sure to see a doctor.

Therefore, determining the cause of testicular pain requires doctors to have extensive clinical experience and to carefully identify and find the key to the disease.

Treatment of testicular pain

Symptomatic treatment should be carried out based on the determination of the cause.
