What anti-inflammatory medicine should I take for breast inflammation?

Mastitis is a very familiar disease for women, because most women may be troubled by such a disease. The incidence rate is even higher especially for women who are breastfeeding. In fact, mastitis refers to inflammation of the breast, so some anti-inflammatory drugs can be used appropriately during the treatment process. So, what anti-inflammatory drugs should be taken for breast inflammation, and how should female friends properly care for their breasts?

The choice of medicine for mastitis should be based on the condition of the disease and the baby. If the condition is not serious, the latex can be drained to reduce inflammation, and the child or the child's father can suck out the latex. If the baby is relatively young, it is best not to stop breastfeeding if possible. This is very important for the baby’s health.

When your baby needs breast milk and emptying the milk cannot relieve the inflammation, you can choose Chinese medicine to control the inflammation. Choose medicines with detoxifying and heat-clearing effects. You can continue breastfeeding while using Chinese medicine, so you don't have to wean your baby and you can use medicine for anti-inflammatory treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine also has ointments that can be applied to the affected area without affecting the lotion and are very effective.

If the inflammation has reached the suppurative stage and the baby must be weaned for a period of time, or if there is no suppuration and it is okay to wean the baby for a period of time, western medicine antibiotics can be used to control the inflammation. Drugs that stop milk secretion can also be used. The use of western medicine will cause the milk to deteriorate, so it is best to stop breastfeeding when using western medicine.

Breast care

Acute mastitis often occurs in lactating women who have not yet completed one month postpartum. Although it can occur in women throughout the lactating period, it is more common in primiparas. There are two main causes of mastitis: milk stasis and bacterial infection. It is caused by postpartum milk stasis or nipple damage, bacteria invading the breast and secondary infection. The pathogenic bacteria are mostly Staphylococcus aureus, followed by Escherichia coli. Because the normal body temperature of the human body is around 37 degrees, it is an environment suitable for the growth and reproduction of bacteria. The rich water, sugar and protein contained in breast milk provide a good culture medium for bacteria. If the mother does not pay attention to the hygiene of the nipples at this time, bacteria can easily invade and grow.

Mothers should observe their nipples in time. If they find that their nipples are cracked, they are tingling during breastfeeding, accompanied by milk stagnation or lumps, their breasts are locally swollen and painful, and their skin is slightly red, these are likely to be early manifestations of mastitis. They should take good care of their breasts on a daily basis:

1. The mother should pay attention to keeping a happy mood and avoid eating fatty, greasy or spicy foods. Paying attention to rest, adjusting emotions, ensuring adequate rest time and a good mood are necessary conditions for every woman to be a good mother.

2. Wash your nipples frequently with warm water. For those with inverted nipples, you can lift and correct them 1-2 times a day.
