Is it normal for my period to come 4 days early?

Among the vast majority of our female compatriots, it is rare for menstruation to come regularly and on time. Because endocrine conditions are different in each time period and are prone to fluctuations. The menstrual cycle is generally 28 days, which is affected by many factors, such as depression, excessive physical fatigue, irregular work and rest, etc. It is normal for menstruation to come 3-5 days earlier than expected and there are no other discomforts. However, if this happens during menstruation, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination.

My period came 4 days early

1. Analyze specific situations

Under normal circumstances, a woman's menstrual cycle should be regular. It doesn't have to be a 28-day cycle. As long as it is regular, 20 to 40 days is normal. For example, once every 25 days or once every 35 days is acceptable. According to an individual's normal physiological cycle, it is normal for menstruation to come 7 to 10 days earlier than expected, so it is normal for menstruation to come 4 days earlier than expected.

2. Reasons for early menstruation

There are many reasons for early menstruation, both internal and external. Internal factors are generally due to the physical fitness of women themselves. Some women with poor physical fitness are prone to insufficient qi and blood, which can easily lead to early menstruation; external factors are generally caused by excess yang. For example, some female friends always like to eat spicy or hot food, which will cause blood heat and bring forward menstruation.

The menstrual cycle, also called the ovarian cycle, is divided into four phases, including the follicular phase, ovulation phase, luteal phase, and menstruation phase:

1. Follicular phase: The follicular phase is from the first day of menstruation to the day of ovulation. During this period, under the influence of follicle-stimulating hormone, the concentration of estrogen in the body increases, the follicles gradually mature, and the endometrium thickens.

2. Ovulation period: Ovulation period refers to the process in which the egg cell and the surrounding cumulus granulosa cells are discharged together. A woman's ovulation date is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period.

3. Luteal phase: The luteal phase refers to the period from ovulation to the day before menstruation. The ovaries are affected by luteinizing hormone and secrete progesterone to maintain the thickened endometrium to facilitate the implantation of the fertilized egg. If the fertilized egg does not implant, the endometrium will collapse and the menstrual cycle ends with the onset of menstruation.

4. Menstrual period: The duration of each menstrual period is called the menstrual period, which is generally 2-8 days, with an average of 4-6 days. Generally, there are no special symptoms during menstruation, but due to pelvic congestion and the effects of prostaglandins, some women may experience discomfort in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral area or uterine contraction pain, and may also experience symptoms of gastrointestinal dysfunction such as diarrhea.
