I can't bear to look at it! My skin during my period has become like this

How do women take care of their skin during their menstrual period? During menstruation, the estrogen secretion in women's bodies decreases, the androgen secretion increases relatively, and the resulting emotional changes will affect the condition of the skin.

Skin problems that may occur during menstruation:

Decreased estrogen secretion and increased progesterone hormone

Stimulation of the sebaceous glands leads to the production of sebum. Men also secrete more sebum than women. When your period comes every month, the secretion of progesterone, a hormone similar to male hormone, increases, and the secretion of sebum also increases greatly, thus clogging the pores and causing frequent acne.

Skin that has become dull due to keratinization

Progesterone hormone is a hormone that promotes the formation of the stratum corneum. As it increases during menstruation, the stratum corneum cannot fall off smoothly, causing the accumulation of aged stratum corneum, making the skin look dull and uneven.

Decreased skin elasticity due to decreased collagen

Collagen is the core component for maintaining skin elasticity, and its production is stimulated by estrogen. A major problem during menstruation is the decrease in estrogen, which causes less collagen to be produced than usual, causing the skin to gradually lose elasticity.

Decreased body protection function

The skin suddenly becomes sensitive. This is the period when the immunity to acne bacteria is reduced. If you neglect it, it will worsen into acne inflammation and develop into purulent acne. Squeezing it with your hands will leave acne scars, and in severe cases, acne pits.

Skin becomes dry rapidly

As the body's protective function weakens, the sebum in the natural protective film on the skin's surface also decreases, causing the skin's resistance to weaken, and it gradually loses its ability to lock in moisture, becoming dry and loose.

Irregular blood circulation

Swelling and pain occur on the body. The water and organic matter in the body cannot be discharged and accumulate irregularly in the body, so the body becomes swollen, and will feel heavier and accompanied by a pain like falling stomach.

Dark circles under the eyes

Because of the irregular blood flow, the skin color will become uneven due to congestion. Bruising appears around the eyes, where the skin tissue is the weakest, and the dark circles become deeper. In particular, due to the large amount of blood discharged, the hemoglobin decreases, which accelerates the deterioration of dark circles.
