Causes of anal pain in adenomyosis

Patients with adenomyosis almost feel that life is worse than death, and all aspects of their study, work, and life are seriously affected. Moreover, the attacks usually occur with each menstrual period becoming more painful than the previous one, and may even cause dizziness and severe sleep problems. In addition to dysmenorrhea and abdominal pain, some people also have symptoms such as anal swelling and pain. Some patients describe it this way: "It's very uncomfortable. I feel like there is something pressing against my anus all the time, which makes me unable to stand or sit every day!" So is this disease caused by adenomyosis? Why does adenomyosis cause anal swelling?

Adenomyosis is one of the more common gynecological diseases currently. It is generally more common in women aged 35-45 with a history of pregnancy. Because the patient's endometriosis proliferates and invades the uterine muscle layer and grows, the patient's common symptoms mainly include dysmenorrhea, heavy menstrual flow, prolonged menstruation, shortened menstrual cycle, pain during sexual intercourse, anemia, infertility and other symptoms. So will adenomyosis cause the patient's anus to swell? Why?

Before answering this question, let's take a look at how adenomyosis is formed: We have just mentioned that adenomyosis is caused by the patient's endometriosis invading the myometrium and growing. These ectopic endometrial cells will also fall off and bleed with the patient's menstrual cycle, but they cannot be discharged from the cervix like normal menstruation. Therefore, they are deposited in the patient's myometrium and form diffuse adenomyosis lesions. These lesions are located in the patient's uterine muscle layer, causing the patient's uterus to enlarge, harden, and thicken the uterine wall. They may also compress the rectum, causing the patient to feel a distended anus. Especially for patients with adenomyosis whose lesions are located on the posterior wall of the uterus, they will have obvious anal swelling and pain before and after menstruation.

What should I pay attention to during menstruation with adenomyosis? Dietary precautions: Patients with adenomyosis should avoid eating all kinds of acidic, raw, cold and spicy foods during menstruation, such as lemons, pomegranates, plums, vinegar, cold drinks, cold dishes, watermelons, chili peppers, peppers, raw onions, ginger, garlic, etc. These foods can easily cause blood stagnation, cold blood stasis, pelvic congestion, etc., which are not conducive to the discharge of menstrual blood and will aggravate the dysmenorrhea symptoms of patients with adenomyosis.

In addition, patients with adenomyosis should pay attention to a light diet during menstruation. They can eat more iron-rich foods that help to replenish blood, such as fungus, spinach, chicken liver, etc.

Keep warm: Patients with adenomyosis need to keep warm during menstruation. Even in summer, they should be careful not to stay cool, so as not to cause local spasm of the uterus and aggravate the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. Keeping your abdomen warm can also help relieve menstrual cramps.

Pay attention to your emotions: Women with adenomyosis should pay attention to regulating their emotions during menstruation, maintain a cheerful and happy mood, avoid negative emotions such as anger and fright, so as not to make dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation and other phenomena worse.

Pay attention to rest: Patients with adenomyosis should pay attention to rest more during menstruation, and avoid heavy physical labor and strenuous exercise. So as to avoid pelvic congestion and aggravation of dysmenorrhea symptoms.

Medical experts remind you: If adenomyosis is not treated in time, its symptoms will become more and more severe as the number of menstrual periods increases, which will not only endanger the patient's health, but also lead to a decline in the patient's quality of life. Therefore, patients must seek timely treatment after discovering the disease.
