What is the common cause of abdominal pain caused by ring surgery?

Now that the country has opened up the two-child policy, it is a good thing for many families. However, some families who cannot bear the tremendous pressure of raising children still choose sterilization early. Of course, sterilization can be done for both men and women. The most common method is to insert an IUD into women, because it can effectively prevent unwanted pregnancies, but it may also cause side effects to women's bodies. So what are the common causes of abdominal pain in women?

1. Early pain

Refers to the pain that occurs during the IUD insertion process and within 10 days after insertion, which is mostly physiological. When the IUD is inserted, the IUD and the insertion device pass through the internal cervical os, causing uterine contractions and spasm-like pain. It may also be caused by the patient's mental tension and sensitivity to pain.

Some women experience mild pain in the lower abdomen and waist after having an IUD inserted. This is one of the side effects of having an IUD inserted. The IUD is a "foreign body" to the uterus, especially if it is large or positioned low. In order to expel this "foreign body", the uterus contracts, causing uterine contraction pain, which is clinically manifested as lower abdominal pain and back pain. Lower abdominal pain usually occurs in the early stages of IUD insertion. Mild pain does not require treatment. Slightly more severe pain can be treated symptomatically under the guidance of a doctor with the use of painkillers. Generally, the pain will disappear after a few months of adaptation.

2. Delayed pain

Refers to pain that persists for more than 10 days. Delayed pain generally indicates that the ring does not match the uterine cavity. The longer the pain lasts, the more likely it is that the ring is less consistent with the uterine cavity.

3. Late-stage pain

It is abnormal if the lower abdominal pain does not ease or even worsens several months after the IUD is inserted. In most cases, it is pathological and you should go to the hospital to find out the cause and rule out the possibility of gynecological diseases such as infection, ectopic pregnancy, IUD displacement, deformation, and incarceration.
