What is the difference between implantation bleeding and menstruation?

In life, one-third of women may experience implantation bleeding in early pregnancy. That's because after the fertilized egg enters the fallopian tube, it will enter the uterus along the way and implant into the endometrium. The implanted fertilized egg will form tissue cells and may damage the blood vessels of the uterus. So some women will have a small amount of vaginal bleeding, so how should we distinguish between implantation bleeding and menstruation?

The difference between implantation bleeding and menstruation

First of all, it is not easy to distinguish these two diseases simply from the symptoms. They can only be confirmed after auxiliary examinations, because miscarriage in early pregnancy, especially spontaneous abortion, and menstruation have basically the same symptoms.

Menstruation refers to regular, periodic uterine bleeding, also known as menstrual period, monthly fluid, monthly period, and menstrual leave. Strictly speaking, this bleeding should be accompanied by ovarian follicle maturation, ovulation and corpus luteum formation, and the endometrium should undergo changes from proliferation to secretion. Menstruation should have normal cycles, periods, volume, color and quality.

If after pregnancy is confirmed, the amount of vaginal bleeding is less than the normal menstrual amount and is accompanied by abdominal pain, it can be confirmed that it is not menstruation. It may be pregnancy bleeding.

Pregnancy bleeding is generally not a lot, but it may last longer, while menstrual bleeding is generally heavier on the first two days. Bleeding during pregnancy is a warning sign that something is wrong with the pregnancy. Regardless of the amount of bleeding, pregnant mothers should be vigilant and seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Is it normal for the fertilized egg to implant without bleeding?

The implantation of the fertilized egg occurs about 6 days after fertilization. At this time, most mothers do not have any particularly obvious reaction. A few women will have some red or pink blood, which is called implantation bleeding. Not everyone experiences this symptom, so it is not an obvious sign of pregnancy. If a woman happens to ovulate during intercourse and the man's sperm is well motile, conception can usually occur within 24 to 48 hours, and the woman will not feel anything when the fertilized egg implants! Only a small number of people will bleed a small amount when the fertilized egg implants due to physiological and physical problems.

Implantation bleeding occurs about one week into pregnancy. If it is now 7 to 10 days since ovulation, implantation may be suspected and you can go to the hospital for examination. If it is more than 12 days since ovulation, it may be menstruation.

If the abdominal pain continues to increase, it may indicate the arrival of a normal menstrual period or a pregnancy problem, such as an ectopic pregnancy. In some cases, the pain may be related to an entirely different medical condition, such as appendicitis or cystitis.
