What should I do if anti-endometrial antibodies are positive?

Protecting the physical health of modern women is a very important matter, because the physiological problems caused by various factors in modern life make many women face greater difficulties in life. For example, a large number of women have symptoms of difficulty in getting pregnant after marriage, which has a lot to do with the positive anti-endometrial antibodies in their bodies. Let’s take a look at what to do if the anti-endometrial antibodies are positive?

Anti-endometrial antibodies (EMAb) are autoantibodies that use the endometrium as a target antigen and induce a series of immune responses. Reports have shown that the positive rate of anti-endometrial antibodies in the blood of women with endometriosis and infertility is significantly higher than that of normal controls. In the serum of endometriosis, the detection rate of EMAb can reach 70%-80%.

(1) Isolation therapy: Women with sperm alloimmune infertility can use condoms for 3 to 6 months to avoid further stimulation of sperm antigens on the female. After the antibody titer disappears, they can choose sexual intercourse during the ovulation period to hope for conception.

(2) Immunosuppressive therapy: Adrenal cortical hormones can be used to treat immune infertility, such as taking 5 mg of prednisone three times a day two weeks before ovulation. There are also reports of topical vaginal hydrocortisone in the treatment of infertile women with antisperm antibodies in their cervical mucus. The pregnancy rate is reported to be between 20% and 45%.

(3) Intrauterine insemination: When there are sperm antibodies in the cervical mucus that interfere with conception, the husband's semen can be processed in vitro to separate high-quality sperm for intrauterine insemination.

(4) In vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF): If a woman has persistent high titer anti-sperm antibodies in her body, she may be considered for IVF. Some people have reported that the fertilization rate of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer technology for immunologically infertile people reached 83% and the pregnancy rate reached 33%.

(5) Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT): A study reported that 16 men diagnosed with immune infertility and their spouses underwent matching tests, and 7 couples (43%) became pregnant. Therefore, it is considered to be a very effective and safe method.
