What should we pay attention to when ultra-monitoring ovulation?

B-ultrasound detection of ovulation is a relatively common gynecological examination. It mainly uses B-ultrasound to detect whether a woman's ovulation is normal. It can also detect whether the ovulation is healthy. According to the B-ultrasound test, a woman's ovulation period can be judged and predicted. There are also some things to pay attention to when doing B-ultrasound detection of ovulation. Be prepared to hold your urine before the examination. B-ultrasound will be clearer when doing it during the period of holding your urine.

Things to note when monitoring ovulation

It is recommended to continue measuring until the follicle ruptures. You have to hold your urine during each examination. The best effect is if you hold it urgently. However, holding urine while waiting in line can cause irritability or affect the quality of eggs, so you should pay attention to maintaining a good mood.

Although there are no side effects of B-ultrasound monitoring of eggs, there is no particular need for normal women to undergo this examination. B-ultrasound monitoring of eggs is not something that can be done just once. It needs to be done several times a month. Each time, you need to register and queue up. It is recommended that women who want to monitor their eggs with B-ultrasound should go to a regular hospital and do it under the guidance of a doctor.

Abnormal ovulation response measures

If the examination finds abnormal ovulation, women need to take some ovulation-promoting drugs in appropriate amounts under the guidance of a doctor. However, we must be aware of the misunderstandings in the use of ovulation-inducing drugs, be careful about ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, and avoid excessive use that may lead to premature ovarian failure. Many women are anxious because of ovulation disorders and abuse ovulation-stimulating drugs, but they do not know that improper use of drugs can cause irreversible damage to the ovaries and reduce the pregnancy rate.

Ovulation monitoring data interpretation

1. Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature when you are inactive in the early morning. It is relatively low before ovulation and increases significantly by about 0.2-0.5℃ after ovulation, and continues until the onset of menstruation. BBT is biphasic, indicating ovulation. It does not occur in menopausal women or women who have had their ovaries removed. BBT is monophasic: indicating that ovulation may not occur.

2. In the first half of the menstrual cycle, the cervix does not secrete mucus and the vulva is very dry. After this, the cervix secretes a small amount of thick, opaque mucus. Just before ovulation, with the appearance of the estrogen peak, the cervical mucus becomes thinner, transparent, and clear, and the amount also increases. This is called fertile mucus.

3. Generally, monitoring begins on the 10th day of the menstrual cycle to observe changes in the diameter of the follicles. The diameter of the follicles increases by an average of about 3mm per day in the 4 days before ovulation. The follicles mature to about 17-25mm before ovulation and disappear after ovulation. Continuous monitoring shows that the follicles continue to grow before ovulation. When the largest follicle disappears, ovulation occurs. (This method is reliable, but requires continuous monitoring and is expensive).

4. There are ovulation test strips on the market, which you can buy and do the test yourself. Place the test strip in your urine. If two red lines appear in the "small window" of the test strip, it means ovulation is about to occur. This method requires multiple consecutive tests.

Among the above 4 methods, 1 and 2 are relatively rough, while 3 and 4 are more accurate but more expensive.

Methods of monitoring ovulation

There are many ways to monitor ovulation, which can be done by self-monitoring or through hospital examination, but the most reliable method is B-ultrasound examination.

1.Basal body temperature method. Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature when the human body is in a state of complete rest. It can more accurately reflect the function of ovarian ovulation and the corresponding endocrine changes. After waking up in the early morning, before getting out of bed, women should not do any movement. Place a thermometer in their mouth and under their tongue for 5 minutes, then take it out, read the temperature and record it on the temperature record sheet. Then shake the mercury column on the thermometer to below 35.5 degrees, put it back in place, and try again after waking up the next morning. In addition, the temperature record should also record whether there is a cold, fever, insomnia, sexual life and menstruation. Detailed records will help doctors determine the function of ovulation.

2. Cervical mucus method. Cervical mucus is produced by special cells in the cervical canal. The amount and nature of cervical mucus changes with ovulation and the menstrual cycle. During a menstrual cycle, cervical mucus is like egg white, with low viscosity, smooth and elastic. The thumb and index finger can be used to pull the mucus into very long threads (up to more than 10 cm). At this time, the vulva feels noticeably moist. It is generally believed that the secretion is clear and transparent like egg white. The day with the longest stringiness is likely to be the ovulation day. On this day and the 3 days before and after are the ovulation period, and sexual intercourse can be arranged every other day.

3. Ovulation pain feeling method. Ovulation pain is a symptom of ovulation. Ovulation pain is a clear sign that ovulation is occurring. It is the best time to arrange sex. However, you cannot rely solely on the feeling of pain to determine the ovulation day.

4. Schedule method. Among women of childbearing age, most ovulate 12-16 days (14 days on average) before the next menstruation. The estimated ovulation date can be counted back 14 days from the approximate date of the next menstrual period. If your menstrual cycle is 28 days, you can arrange sexual intercourse every other day between the 12th and 16th days of your period.

5. Ovulation test paper. Do not drink water 2 hours before taking the ovulation test. Do not test with morning urine, it is best to test between 10 and 20 o'clock. It is recommended to start testing on the tenth day of menstruation, and test once a day. If you find that the color is gradually deepening, you should increase the frequency of testing and try to get a strong positive test. If you find that the color is getting weaker, you should arrange sexual intercourse. Ovulation occurs after the color of the test paper weakens.

6. Use B-ultrasound to detect ovulation. Among the methods of predicting ovulation time, vaginal B-ultrasound is the most intuitive method. It can show how many follicles are developing in the ovaries, their size, whether the time of ovulation is approaching, etc.
