Women face many disease risks in life because of their special physiological structure. For example, menstruation, also known as menstruation, is a relatively regular physiological symptom of women. Normal menstruation can maintain the balance inside the body and prevent the occurrence of diseases, while abnormal menstruation can cause the body to get worse and worse. Let’s take a look at what women should do if they suffer from menstrual diseases? Traditional Chinese medicine believes that cold, heat, wind, insects, phlegm and dampness, and injuries caused by the seven emotions can all lead to abnormal menstruation, and nourishing blood, soothing the liver, invigorating qi, and tonifying the kidney are the main methods for treating menstrual disorders. The following introduces a method of treating menstrual disorders using Siwu Decoction (9 grams each of Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong, White Peony Root, and Rehmannia Glutinosa) as the basic formula, and modifying it according to different symptoms. 1. Qi regulation method: It is suitable for those who suffer from fullness and pain in the ribs before menstruation, breast swelling and stringy pulse. Add green peel, angelica root, costus root, bergamot, tangerine leaves, rose, and selfheal, etc. 2. Blood stasis and blood regulation method: It is used for those with irregular menstruation, blood clots, and retained lochia. Add motherwort, rose, zedoaria, salvia miltiorrhiza, and citronelloynia cordata, etc. If the pain is localized, resists pressure, and there are many menstrual blood clots, add red peony root, moutan bark, peach kernel, safflower, Corydalis yanhusuo, raw pollen, etc. For those with heavy blood stasis, use Trillium and Curcuma. 3. Expectorant and dampness-removing method: For those with fat body, excessive phlegm and dampness, and scanty menstruation, add tangerine peel, pinellia, Poria, plantain seed, coix seed, labiatae, lentil flower, magnolia bud, and perilla. 4. Stomach-regulating method: If vomiting, diarrhea, belching, and poor appetite occur during menstruation, add raw malt, sand shell, amomum villosum, tangerine peel, six-qu, bitter orange peel, and bamboo shavings, etc. For Yin deficiency, add Dendrobium, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Adenophora Root; for stomach Qi deficiency, add Pseudostellaria baicalensis, Atractylodes macrocephala, etc. 5. Kidney-tonifying and Chong-strengthening method: It is used for Chong and Ren meridians being unstable, prolonged menstruation, sore waist and weak feet, with optional additions of Eucommia ulmoides, Radix Codonopsis pilosula, Radix Chuanduan, Semen Cuscutae, Morinda officinalis, Cibotium barometz, and Deer Horn Glue.
