When is the best time to do an infertility test?

2. In infertility examination, the hysteroscope must be filled with water to expand the uterine cavity to facilitate examination, while the laparoscopy is to inject contrast agent into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes to determine whether the fallopian tubes are blocked. Both may flush the embryo away and cause ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, the best time to check is within three to seven days after the end of menstruation.

3. Generally, blood tests for hormones are done on the second or third day of the menstrual period. Because at this time, the hormones in the female body will not fluctuate too much, so problems such as ovarian aging, chronic anovulation and polycystic ovary symptoms can be clearly judged.

If you choose to draw blood during menstruation to check the ovarian tumor index (Ca125), most of the results will be false positives and too high, which will make patients worry in vain and think that they have an incurable disease. Therefore, it is recommended to check during the non-menstrual period.

4. For infertility examination, male semen examination usually only requires a short abstinence of three to seven days. The collected semen is placed in an examination box and delivered to the technician within one hour. The result will be known within half an hour.

It is generally recommended that patients who are undergoing an initial infertility check-up come to the doctor within three days of the onset of menstruation. All tests can be completed within one month. If you cooperate with the doctor's treatment, it is not difficult to become pregnant quickly.
