Is it painful to remove the IUD?

Is it painful to remove the IUD?

Generally speaking, it won't be too painful to remove the IUD. However, if the IUD is embedded in the uterus or displaced, it may be a little painful to remove it, but it's generally acceptable. The removal process won't take too long and it will be done in a few minutes, so there's no need to worry too much.

1. If the position of the IUD placed in the uterus is normal, there will be no pain during the removal operation.

2. If the IUD is embedded in the uterus or the ring is displaced, you may feel some pain when removing the ring. However, the pain caused by this process is within the acceptable range for women, and the removal process is very short and can usually be completed in a few minutes.

It should be noted that an ultrasound examination is required before removing the IUD to determine whether the placement of the IUD is normal. Many hospitals now offer painless IUD removal.

Generally, you may experience mild lower abdominal discomfort, back pain, or a small amount of vaginal bleeding after the IUD is removed. If the amount of vaginal bleeding after surgery exceeds the amount of menstruation, or the bleeding continues after half a month, or there is severe abdominal pain, etc., please return for a follow-up visit immediately.

Generally speaking, after the IUD is removed, if there is no genital infection and menstruation is regular, you can get pregnant. If you want to get pregnant after having an IUD removed by the hospital, it is generally best to wait for six months to a year. If you are in urgent need of getting pregnant, you should wait for a while (2-3 normal menstrual cycles) before conceiving to give the endometrium time to recover, which is beneficial for eugenics.
