What are the causes of tubal infertility?

What are the causes of tubal infertility?

Whether the fallopian tubes are unobstructed is a key factor in whether conception can be successful. Otherwise, infertility or ectopic pregnancy may occur. From a clinical perspective, salpingitis, fallopian tube obstruction, hydrosalpinx, and fallopian tube adhesions are the key causes of tubal infertility in pregnant women. Female friends who want to have children can undergo examinations and treatment in this regard.

1. Infertility caused by salpingitis

Generally, chronic inflammation of the fallopian tubes and severe chronic salpingitis can cause fallopian tube obstruction, resulting in the destruction of the fallopian tube lining by inflammation, affecting the ciliary movement of the lining cells, and making the fallopian tube wall stiff, affecting the peristalsis of the fallopian tube; thereby affecting the meeting and transportation process of sperm and egg, and leading to female infertility.

2. Infertility caused by fallopian tube obstruction

There are two types of fallopian tube blockage: primary fallopian tube blockage, which is present at birth, but this situation is rare; secondary fallopian tube blockage is caused by acquired factors. Generally, most of them are caused by surgical factors, which cause fallopian tube blockage or obstruction of fallopian tubes, ultimately leading to female infertility.

3. Hydrosalpinx causes infertility

Generally, hydrosalpinx is caused by infection by pathogens. If it is not treated promptly and effectively, it will lead to pus in the fallopian tube. After the inflammation subsides, the pus turns into serous and then into hydrosalpinx. Hydrosalpinx has the following symptoms: abdominal pain, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, etc. The fallopian tubes are damaged by the disease, causing obstruction of the fallopian tubes and leading to infertility.

4. Fallopian tube adhesion

If a woman has adhesions in her fallopian tubes, it will cause the fallopian tubes to be blocked. If the adhesions are complete, there will naturally be no chance of conception. In the acute phase, women will feel abdominal discomfort. Nowadays, due to the high incidence of diseases such as uterine cavity infection, sexually transmitted diseases, endometriosis, etc., various inflammations cause local tissue hyperplasia in the fallopian tube, and then adhesions occur. Once the fallopian tube is blocked, even if the sperm and egg have been fertilized, they cannot enter the uterine cavity and cannot become pregnant. If they stay in the fallopian tube to develop, it may lead to ectopic pregnancy.
