What are the symptoms of endometrial cancer?

The early symptoms of endometrial cancer are not very obvious, and there is no excessive discomfort. Later, vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, pain and other symptoms will gradually appear. If it is not effectively treated, uterine cavity effusion, lumbar pain, etc. may occur. In the late stage, anemia, weight loss and cancer of other organs may also occur.

1. Symptoms:

There are no obvious symptoms in the very early stages, but vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, and pain may occur later.

1. Vaginal bleeding: It mainly manifests as vaginal bleeding after menopause, and the amount is generally not much. Those who have not yet reached menopause may experience increased menstruation, prolonged menstrual periods, or menstrual disorders.

2. Vaginal discharge: mostly bloody or serous secretions. If there is infection, there will be purulent and bloody discharge with a foul odor. About 25% of patients seek medical treatment due to abnormal vaginal discharge.

3. Lower abdominal pain and others: If the cancer involves the internal os of the cervix, it can cause pyometra, lower abdominal distension and cramp-like pain. In the late stage, infiltration of surrounding tissues or compression of nerves can cause pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region. In the late stage, corresponding symptoms such as anemia, weight loss and cachexia may appear.

2. Physical signs:

Gynecological examination may reveal no abnormalities in early endometrial cancer. In the late stage, the uterus may be significantly enlarged, and there may be obvious tenderness when combined with pyometra. Cancerous tissue may occasionally protrude from the cervical canal and bleed easily when touched. When the cancer infiltrates the surrounding tissues, the uterus is fixed or irregular nodules can be felt beside the uterus.

Based on the above symptoms, auxiliary examinations can usually confirm whether it is endometrial cancer. Therefore, women should always pay attention to changes in their menstruation and the nature of vaginal secretions; once symptoms appear, go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.

3. Prevention of endometrial cancer mainly targets risk factors related to the disease:

1. Carry out cancer prevention publicity and survey, strengthen health and medical knowledge, and educate women with abnormal menopausal bleeding, vaginal discharge, obesity, hypertension or diabetes to be vigilant, seek medical treatment in time, and get early diagnosis.

2. For patients with a history of precancerous disease and excessive endometrial hyperplasia, especially those with atypical hyperplasia, active treatment and close follow-up should be given. If the therapeutic effect is not good, the uterus should be removed surgically in time. If the patient already has children, has no desire to have children, or is older, conservative treatment is not necessary. Direct hysterectomy.

3. When there is a benign gynecological disease, it is best not to use radiotherapy to avoid inducing tumors.

4. Strictly follow the indications for the use of estrogen. Menopausal women should use estrogen for replacement therapy under the guidance of a doctor, and use progesterone at the same time to regularly transform the endometrium.
