What should I do if there is a big pimple on my vulva?

If a large pimple like acne grows on the vulva, it may be caused by a sebaceous cyst. The main reason is that the sebaceous glands of the skin secrete too much, which will be stored under the skin to form a cyst. This type of cyst is benign and usually painless. If it grows quickly, it can be treated with surgery. Of course, if such symptoms occur, you should go to the hospital for diagnosis in time and then receive symptomatic treatment.

For smaller skin cysts, which are generally less than 1 cm in size, a 0.3 mm small hole is made at the weakest part of the cyst surface to squeeze the cyst and expel the dissolved material. A mosquito forceps (one curved and one straight) is used to enter the cyst wall through the intracavitary incision. Another small curved hemostatic forceps is used to gradually and bluntly peel off the cyst wall. After peeling, the cyst is completely removed through the incision. If it is inconvenient to separate the cyst wall after most of it has been peeled off, part of the cyst wall can be removed first, and then the unfinished part can be bluntly peeled off. After the operation, apply pressure with sterile gauze and bandage appropriately.

2. Regardless of the type of large cysts, those located subcutaneously should be surgically removed with a sterile towel spread over them. Choose an incision that is the same as the skin grain. For heavier protrusions, make a fusiform incision. For facial cysts, use a micro incision. Use a scalpel to make a 0.5 cm incision. First, remove the contents, separate the cyst wall, and remove it completely. Fusiform resection, use CO2 laser (power 15W) or ND:YAG laser knife (power 20W) to completely separate along the cyst wall and then suture the incision.

Note that after micro-incision removal of the cyst, use multiple layers of gauze for pressure dressing to avoid leaving dead space. The main advantage of this small incision is that it is facial, so it has practical significance for beauty. Clinical practical surgical observation shows that patients recover very well after undergoing micro-incision resection. When the cyst is removed, if blunt separation is difficult, a ND:YAG quartz laser knife (power 10W) can be used for separation, which is relatively clean and neat with minimal bleeding. Small incisions less than 0.5 cm do not need to be sutured, but can be closed with one stitch.

After surgery, anti-inflammatory drugs can be taken for 1 week. For oral administration of vitamin C, b1, b2, etc., the dosage can be increased appropriately. The patient will recover within 7 to 10 days after the operation. Check the wound dressing after surgery and perform local treatment if any signs of infection are found.
