What are the symptoms of cervical polyps

Cervical polyps are a relatively common chronic gynecological disease, and it is also a clinical manifestation of chronic cervicitis! It is mostly because chronic inflammation repeatedly stimulates the tissue of the cervical canal mucosa, resulting in local hyperplasia of tissue, which is very harmful to women's health. It often leads to increased vaginal discharge and bloody vaginal discharge. It is also easy to cause bleeding and pain during sexual intercourse, etc.

Cervical polyps are a clinical manifestation of chronic cervicitis, a common gynecological disease. It is a symptom of local hyperplasia of the cervical mucosal tissue due to chronic inflammatory stimulation. Because the uterus itself has a tendency to reject, the hyperplastic mucosa gradually protrudes from the base to the external os of the cervix, forming a polyp-like change, so it is also called endocervical polyp. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the symptoms of cervical polyps are caused by accumulated dampness and heat, which damages the nutrients in the blood and the blood vessels and cell bands.

When a vaginal speculum is used to expose the cervix during routine gynecological examinations, the polyps seen vary in size and shape. Large cervical polyps can be divided into two types: the first type of cervical polyps have their roots mostly attached to the external os of the cervix or inside the endocervical canal. They are generally small in size, with a diameter of less than 1 cm, single or multiple, bright red in color, soft in texture, easy to bleed, and with a slender pedicle.

The appearance is like a water drop forming an oblate body. Another type of cervical polyp occurs in the cervical vaginal part. This type of polyp is superficial, protrudes to the surface, has a wide base, is light red in color, and has a tough texture. Most uterine polyps are benign, but a very small number of them become malignant, with a malignancy rate of 0.2 to 0.4%. If cervical polyps are removed, they often recur.

Relevant experts introduced: cervical polyps mostly occur in multiparous women aged 40 to 60 years old; when the polyps are very small, the patients do not have any discomfort symptoms. Most of the symptoms of cervical polyps are discovered during gynecological examinations due to other diseases. A small number of larger polyps will show increased vaginal discharge, or a few traces of blood in the center of the vaginal discharge, or even a small amount of vaginal bleeding, that is, bloody vaginal discharge or contact bleeding, especially after sexual intercourse and when squatting and straining to defecate, which are symptoms of extreme bleeding.
