The problem of dysmenorrhea troubles many female friends. Some have primary dysmenorrhea and some have secondary dysmenorrhea, so we need to pay attention to the correct treatment and solution. Secondary dysmenorrhea mainly refers to the disease caused by internal organs, including common endometriosis and uterine fibroids. 1. Dysmenorrhea caused by endometriosis Dysmenorrhea is the most typical symptom of endometriosis. The pain caused by endometriosis is often described as "progressive worsening", that is, there is no pain at the beginning, but as time goes by, dysmenorrhea slowly appears and gradually worsens. It can occur before, during, or after menstruation. The pain is bearable at first, but becomes more severe after several months or years, requiring analgesics. In severe stages, the pain is unbearable, and increasing the dosage of analgesics may even be ineffective. The pain is caused by internal bleeding from endometriosis stimulating local tissue inflammatory response. Endometriosis lesions secrete more prostaglandins, which causes uterine muscle contractions and makes dysmenorrhea more pronounced. After menstruation, bleeding stops and pain is relieved. Dysmenorrhea is not only related to the severity of the lesions but also to the site of endometriosis implantation. 2. Dysmenorrhea caused by adenomyosis The main cause of dysmenorrhea is congestion and bleeding of the endometrial glands in the myometrium, which results in increased pressure inside the lesions. This type of dysmenorrhea is mostly a sexual symptom of muscle spasm, which lasts throughout the menstrual period and then gradually subsides. Due to uterine congestion and enlarged uterine cavity, patients often experience menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation. A doctor's examination may reveal an enlarged uterus. 3. Dysmenorrhea caused by chronic pelvic inflammatory disease The symptoms of chronic pelvic inflammation are lower abdominal distension, pain and lumbar pain, which are often aggravated by fatigue, after sexual intercourse and before and after menstruation. The second is abnormal menstruation and irregular menstruation. 4. Dysmenorrhea caused by uterine malformation For example, rudimentary uterine horn and vaginal septum syndrome can easily lead to poor menstrual blood flow and cause dysmenorrhea. |
