Why do I have heel pain after giving birth?

Some women will have some sequelae or postpartum diseases after giving birth. Heel pain after childbirth may be caused by catching a cold or walking too much. You can soak your feet in mugwort leaves to remove moisture, or soak your feet in ginger to relieve the pain in the heels.

1: Plantar fasciitis: The plantar fasciitis is the tendon tissue on the sole of the foot that maintains the normal arch, buffers shock, and enhances jumping ability. Long-term walking and excessive weight-bearing can cause strain on the plantar fascia, leading to local aseptic inflammation and painful symptoms.

2. Heel spur: more common in elderly patients. When there is heel pain, X-rays can reveal bone spurs of varying sizes formed at the calcaneal tuberosity. However, clinically it is found that bone spurs are not the direct cause of pain. It is just that the raised bone spurs are more likely to cause friction and strain on local tissues, resulting in aseptic inflammation. The degree of heel pain is related to the severity of the local inflammatory response, and has no direct relationship with the size of the bone spurs.

3. Atrophy of the plantar fat pad: Heel pain in the elderly is more complicated . In addition to the above two possible reasons, the plantar fat pad of the elderly itself atrophies, and its function of buffering shocks and preventing friction is weakened, making the local area more susceptible to injury and pain.
