Does cervical retention cyst need treatment?

Cervical retention cyst is mainly a manifestation of chronic cervicitis in women. It is also called Nabothian cyst in clinical medicine. It is mainly because during the recovery process of cervicitis, secretions are blocked by the newborn's squamous epithelium in the cervix to form cysts. So, does cervical retention cyst need treatment? This issue will be analyzed below.

In clinical medicine, most cervical retention cysts do not require treatment, because they are mainly caused by chronic cervicitis in patients. If the cyst is relatively small, it generally does not need to be treated, because it will not have a negative impact on the patient's sexual life and body.

However, if the retention cyst becomes enlarged or inflamed, causing the patient to experience pain during sexual intercourse or an abnormal increase in vaginal discharge, then treatment is required for these conditions. If it is a simple inflammatory infection, anti-inflammatory treatment is needed. For example, you can choose anti-endometritis tablets, gynecitis tablets, or cyproterone acid, cyproterone acid and so on. However, if the cervical retention cyst is relatively large, it should be removed surgically as soon as possible, followed by anti-inflammatory and blood circulation treatments. During this period, sexual intercourse between husband and wife is strictly prohibited.

The treatment of cervical retention cysts is to choose the appropriate method based on the size of the cyst. Cervical retention cysts are also called Nabothian cysts, which are generally no more than 1 cm and are prone to multiple occurrences. If the cyst is relatively small and has no uncomfortable symptoms, you can observe it first. If there is abnormal leucorrhea, it may be caused by complications such as vaginitis and cervicitis. It is best to use metronidazole suppositories, elixirs, etc. At the same time, use vaginal washes such as Cleanse and other feminine washes to clean the vagina, which can shrink or even eliminate the cysts. If the cysts are large and numerous, it is best to go to the hospital for laser surgery. You can also do partial liquid nitrogen cryosurgery, or LEEP knife surgery.
