What is the difference between uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts?

Uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts are both problems that can affect women's reproductive health. Therefore, in order to effectively reduce the adverse harm caused by these diseases to us, we need to pay attention to distinguishing and understanding its symptoms so that we can treat them symptomatically.

1. Uterine fibroids and ovarian tumors are different concepts. Uterine fibroids have a wider range. The two conditions cannot be confused. Treatment should also be targeted. The location of the tumor should be found and the appropriate treatment method should be selected. In order to avoid the occurrence of lesions, tumors that grow to a certain size need surgical removal.

2. Common symptoms of tumorous ovarian cysts include: 1. Frequent urination, but without pain or urgency; or constipation. 2. I feel my lower abdomen is getting bigger and my pants waist is getting tighter. A lump may be felt in the lower abdomen, which is especially noticeable in the morning and disappears after urination. 3. Ovarian mass was found during gynecological examination. Most patients with uterine fibroids have no obvious symptoms and are only occasionally discovered during pelvic examinations. If symptoms occur, it is closely related to the location of the fibroids, its growth rate, and whether the fibroids have degenerated.

3. Common symptoms of uterine fibroids include: 1. Menstrual changes: the most common symptom, manifested as shortened menstrual cycle, increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding, etc. 2. Abdominal mass: The abdomen is swollen, and a mass can be felt in the lower abdomen, accompanied by a feeling of falling. 3. Increased leucorrhea: Increased leucorrhea, sometimes with a large amount of purulent and bloody discharge and necrotic tissue discharge with a foul odor. 4. Pain: Generally, patients do not have abdominal pain, but often have lower abdominal distension, back pain, etc. When the pedicle of the subserosal fibroid is twisted, acute abdominal pain may occur. When the fibroid turns red, the abdominal pain is severe and accompanied by fever.

4. Different hazards: Ovarian cysts are a type of ovarian tumor in a broad sense. People of all ages can get the disease, but it is most common in women aged 20-50. Ovarian tumors are common tumors of the female reproductive system and have various properties and morphologies, namely: single or mixed type, unilateral or bilateral, cystic or solid, benign or malignant. Among them, cystic tumors are more common and have a high degree of malignant transformation. Early diagnosis is difficult, and 70% of cases are already in the advanced stage when seeking medical treatment. Early treatment is rarely available, and the 5-year survival rate has always hovered around 20-30%. It is one of the most serious malignant tumors that threaten women's lives.

5. Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumor of the female reproductive system. Most cases are asymptomatic, while a few may present with vaginal bleeding, abdominal masses, and compression symptoms. It may cause pain if the pedicle is twisted or other conditions occur. Multiple uterine fibroids are common. The exact cause of this disease is unknown. Modern Western medicine uses sex hormones or surgery for treatment, and there is no other ideal treatment.
