These common eye diseases in spring, remember to prevent them in advance!

Spring is the season when everything comes back to life

It is also a season when diseases are most prevalent.

Viruses, bacteria, allergic substances, etc.

If you don't take precautions, they will take advantage of the opportunity to invade

Allergic conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is a common eye disease. Since most of the conjunctiva is in direct contact with the outside world and is easily affected by the external environment, it is easy to get conjunctivitis if you don't pay attention to protection in spring, especially the number of patients with allergic conjunctivitis will increase significantly. The main symptoms are itchy eyes, increased secretions, and congested eyes.

The cause of allergic conjunctivitis is closely related to allergic substances. In the dry and windy spring, pollen, dust, sand, animal hair, etc. entering the eyes can easily cause allergic conjunctivitis.

Chronic dacryocystitis

In the spring, if you often shed tears in the wind and your eye secretions increase significantly, you should pay attention to it, as it may be caused by chronic dacryocystitis.

Bacteria invade the nasolacrimal duct, causing inflammation of the nasolacrimal duct mucosa, resulting in blockage, which will gradually develop into dacryocystitis. When stimulated by wind, the surrounding muscles will contract or spasm, aggravating the blockage of the tear duct. The secreted tears cannot be drained smoothly into the nasal cavity, resulting in tears in the wind.

Keratitis

Keratitis is more common in spring. Symptoms include eye pain, eye swelling, and tearing. It is very harmful. If not treated in time, it can cause serious complications, such as corneal perforation, eye infection, and eye atrophy.

Dry Eyes

The weather is dry in spring, and the eyes will also show corresponding symptoms. If you feel dry eyes, foreign body sensation, burning sensation, itchy eyes, red eyes, photophobia, tears and other discomfort symptoms, you may be suffering from dry eye syndrome.

Tianjin University Aier Eye Hospital kindly reminds you that severe dry eye syndrome can cause keratinization of the eyes and blurred vision. If left untreated for a long time, it can lead to organic damage, loss of vision, and other conditions. Therefore, if the above eye problems occur for a long time, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time and do not delay the condition.

Prevention of eye diseases in spring

Pay attention to eye hygiene

Do not rub your eyes with your hands. When going out in windy weather, wear sunglasses or plain glasses to block out the invasion of dust, bacteria, etc.

Strengthen your exercise

As the temperature rises in spring, you can increase your exercise, strengthen your physical fitness and improve your resistance.

Increase air humidity

The air is dry in spring, so you can use a humidifier indoors to increase the air humidity in the room. When your eyes are dry, you can use hot compresses to relieve eye discomfort.
